    color suggestions for winter wheels

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As winter approaches so does the need to remove the nice wheels and summer rubber.
I am using my stockers for winter wheels but they are pretty scratched up, so its a perfect excuse to paint them

The car is casa and I have flat black OZs on right now. Any suggestions on color for the stock wheels? Seen a few pics of them painted flat black and I don't think I want to go that route.

How about Flat Black? Seriously though, for winter I think something that stands out would be great as in just about any color. Casa is a great canvas for any color of the spectrum. For obvious reasons, you want to stay away from a white wheel in the winter/snow(That's just me though).

    har har

No white wheels for me. I was thinking a bronze color maybe? On some of the BBS wheels I love it. Not sure how the stock wheels would look though.

How about a color which might improve your visibility in poor weather? Have them powder-coated in a hot red.

Black would look good as would gold or bronze being that your car is Casa and gold contrasts white's really nice.

On the other hand wild colors like purple, red, orange, yellow, white blah blah blah. All those "i need attention and look like a highschooler" colors ruin these cars appearance IMO. Subtle and clean is the way to go.

ill have to take a pic later, but I run my stockies in a gunmetal gray color on my casa. Not as dark as black, but not as flashy as bronze.

Well I'd be happy is it was just cosmetic, but it's not. The wheel/control arms are bent. I made another thread...(not to thread jack)

Sorry to hear my man. I'm sure everything will be handled accordingly and she will be up and running before the winter gets here.

Wow, I didn't think anyone still used the word "rad" anymore? Your winter setup? You live n cali, I think the only time I got my car even the least bit dirty was when I went to Big Bear but then back to the house where this is no snow and just a little crisp cool air. Back to the topic though I would go either gold or a dark bronze or even any shade of bronze for that matter. The car would look "dope" when clean and really wouldn't matter when the snow and the dirt and grime where on it because face it your car is Casa, the car is going to get so fucking dirty in the winter. Black and white cars will show everything, from dirt grime and definatley salt when dried.

um.. why the hostility? and maybe you should think before you talk next time, California has some of the best ski resorts in the country. Ever heard of a little place called Lake Tahoe? I've had a season pass for snowboarding for the last 7 years or so and make about 5-10 trips to the snow each year.

It's winter, who cares what your wheels look like, winter is about function, not style. Not to mention stock wheels in anything other than stock silver looks like ass.

Also, if you live in Cali and dont regularly go to the mountains, you have no business even running a winter setup other than being bored with your summer set up. It's like the bitches who have to buy a winter waredorm just for the shake of buying new clothes even tho it never gets could enough to justify those stupid ugg boots...

I have intentions of moving to Socal soon, I pray to god it works out, and switching wheels back and forth for trips up to mountains will be in the cars before i would ever consider running a winter setup for the whole season.

Winter time = Christmas time (no offense to the Jewish, Muslim, Kwanzaa, Atheists, Satanists, and other members out there). Lucky for you, I have a casa and ran OZs in the past. Here's a rough mock up of a couple of options...I added snow on the one to better paint the picture in your mind (pun intended):

LOL at all these responses. OP, I think you should have just went with flat back since your summers are black, which would have made the transition from summer to winter that much easier.

get dramatic with the color scheme. i agree with whoever said a diff color for each rim. Its an excuse for your rims to look absolutely retarded and it be socially acceptable. :)

I have no hostility am just stating that if you live in cali people usually only put a winter setup on just to go to the mountains so who cares what they look like. I lived in socal for 5 years and didn't worry about a winter setup and I took my fair share of trips to the mountains. Grant it I was deployed most of the time but I did my fair share. When people say winter setup its usually because they are in an area that they need to function on a. Daily basis and its hard because of all the snow for 4-5 months.
