Arrow Rear Brake Upgrade question? JHM B6 rotors/ with 034 adapter brackets

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
First of all sorry if this has been asked before, did some searching and didn't find my answer,
I know JHM sells the rear BBK kit for $785 which uses a 325mm rotor (12.8") heres the question can you use the
b6 s4 rear rotor which is 300mm (11.8") $500 with the 034 brackets ($75) plus the SS lines ($50) which gives us $625 and a total savings of $160, or should I just fork over the extra 160 and shut up and stop annoying ever one with noob questions? If any one has any other suggestions please let me know, I do not plan on tracking my car just want some good stopping power, and just to make sure the front b6s4 rotors fit to the b5s4 front? thats what I gathered anyways.

The JHM rotors are bigger, but also 2 piece/custom rotors which presumably makes the price difference. In short though, yes, you could just source the B6/B7 S4 rotors yourself and do the rest. BTW, check out 034 as they may have a "rear bbk kit" too.

The B6 rears are the cheapest and the easiest rear upgrade for our cars. Just get the 034 brackets and you're good to go and it is a true upgrade if you are on a budget if not then go for the JHM BBK.

OE Set of rear B6 rotors are like $120 pair or you get a nice set of slotted or something for under $200 pair easily, not $500. So it's much cheaper to do the B6 rears. The links below should give you an idea of what you will spend for the B6 rear rotors.

Anyone figure out a pad solution to eliminate the inner 1/4 inch of the b6/7 s4 rear rotor that doesnt get touched by the stock pad?

OH SORRY TO ALL !!!! what I was talking about was JHM B6S4 rear rotors thats why I stated $525, not just Oem ones, sorry should have been more clear, I was typing that at like 3:30 at night so wasn't really thinking straight, any other inputs for a good rear kit.

I used 034 brackets, DBA B6/B7 rotors, hawk pads, and 034 rear lines.

I would prefer to custom make a set of lines so if u want my 034 ones PM me

What's wrong with the 034 lines? Could you just use some G-stop lines?
By the way, I would also go with DBA B6/7 rotors in the rear with the bracket to re-fit the caliper.
Buy my B5 S4 Body panels!

Nothing wrong with them, they aren't as long as I would like them tho. You can not use goodridge lines or anything else. Its either 034 or custom because you need a banjo bolt to instal the line to the caliper because a typical line threads into caliper and with the 034 brackets the rear upright gets in the way of doing that.

Any reason why to go with Dba instead of JHM rotors?

The DBAs are less expensive. Still very nice rotors though. But the JHM rotors are lighter.

the only reason to go with JHM IMO is because they are lighter. DBA IMO is a very good rotor. It has a good track record. But then again if you really want to spend money you can buy 2 piece DBA, but they still arent as light as JHM. I didnt care. I dont like buying rotors or brake products from someone that just fabs up brakes. Thats stupid in my opinion. Brakes need to come from a trusted company.

Even with the bigger rear brakes the system is still a 80/20 pulse system right? So only 20% of breaking power goes to the rear no matter what size rotors you have. I can see the bigger caliper and pad surface helping for sure with a bigger rotor.
