    Unidentified Clutch Pedal Activity [UCPA]

The last few times I have driven my car, the clutch pedal has had about an inch of play in it. It seems like the clutch is not fully engaging, because shifts have been a little iffy lately, with some occasional rough feedback. Any ideas? master cylinder, clutch? I dont think the clutch is slipping really, but it does have 140,xxx miles on it

would you really be shocked if the clutch was bad at 140k? lol. there is always a tiny bit of play in mine but not an inch.

Most likely a leak in the master, line or slave. Any loss of fluid.

If you start getting more pedal play you may need a slave cylinder. When I had this problem on my old B4 I replaced the clutch master cylinder too.
