    Front license plate holder?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is there suppose to be one?

I've been trying to figure out how to put my front plate on...

I tried to zip tie it onto the lower grille area but I'd have to bend the plate quite a bit to be able to zip tie both sides. For now I have it in my dash windshield but I don't want to get ticketed again for it.

If there is a plate holder, how do I find a cheap one?

They are out there, you can find them here in our classifieds(http://www.audizine.com/classifieds/...r-plate&cat=54 ) or check junk yards, etc..

That's great and all but what do you expect us to do, drill a hold in our bumper? The B7 has a tow hook built into the bumper, where do you see a tow hook on our car?

I personally have my euro plate and a filler. I will not rock a plate!

...and there isn't really anywhere on the dash to wedge in a plate.

Not down with drilling into my front bumper.

Mine is currently zip tied to the lower center grill. I am planning on doing the magnet trick one of these days.

What color is your car? I'll trade you the filler plate that you have on your car for the EOM plate holder / bracket that I have on mine...

    Let me know...

Ah, I have heard of some officers ticketing for even in the window, but this is in Southern California.

I have seen some individuals actually bend back the sides/top of their plates so it is much smaller/more discreet and thus easier to mount. I believe the rule of thumb is you can adjust the plate as long as it can be put back into normal form when all is said and done. This may be another thing worth looking into.

Personally, I don't run with a front plate and simply pay the fine, when it comes up as it is typically a fix-it ticket that can be reduced to $10 w/correction. Good luck!

    Here's what I did..

    Magnet placement:

The bracket I made for the plate:

    How it looks attached:

Getting pulled over for no plate is pretty rare around here, however the parking cops are ALL over the plate tickets, especially when you street park. I just use this setup to toss the plate on when I park. Quick, easy, and no sacrifice on the appearence.

Do the magnet mod but not like the one above...just search for magnet mod. You use rare earth magnets behind the filler plate and license plate. Goes on and comes off easily but holds strong enough if you forget to take it off to 100 mph+.
If you don't find a writeup, pm me with your email and I'll send you a very good one that I have saved.

Yeah I thought about doing that, but I didn't want the license plate to touch the body of the car. All it takes is dirt/snow/etc. in between the magnets, and you have scratches on it. No thanks. :)

All it takes is some felt on top of the magnets...I've never had an issue.
LMK if anyone wants the writeup.

so bend the plate , what's the issue ?

I cant stand front plate laws, and fortunately in 10 yrs of driving with out one it's never been an issue. However it gives a pig a reason to pull you over which is never a good thing, and ill use zip ties if i move to socal in the next few months.
