They needed to run tests and make sure the intake was working as it should. They had a lot on their plate the last few weeks and now the testing has been done and the intakes are ready.

We installed the unit on my car for test-fit purposes to make sure it worked on an A5. Other than revving, we did not do a comprehensive driving test. APR has one on their black A4 that has been the test-mule but I have not heard of a dramatic increase in sound.

The units are priced similar to the larger Audi intakes such as the B7 A4 2.0T and S4 4.2. Right now, we have all Carbonio on sale for 10% off already. The pricing on our website already reflects the discount. Since there is a minimal number of units arriving and they are on sale, the first run will be limited.

The price point isn't bad at all given the circumstances.

The K&N one is 259 and has no real legitimate numbers backing their product, while this one is carbon fiber and has pretty solid numbers coming from it.

Ok, in the link posted above "Click here to get to the full post" there is a APR chart. Now im not trying to call bluff's or anything im just curious and need some clearing up.. it shows;

HP with stock intake and Stg 1 = 235

HP with carbonio and Stg 1 = 237

then off to the side it say 14HP over stock.. to me that looks like 2HP difference?

Any pictures of the inside of the air box? Wanted to know if they come with stock filters or if it requires to use custom air filters etc...I guess and hope the stock ones.
Nice box never the less. Could you check how much the shipment cost to Belgium? Temped but i guess it is a bit of an eyecandy item although the grafs show slightly more air intake. Not sure if that is really needed on a normal car (2.0TDI)...

14hp is the max gain!

It's certainly possible if they (dealer) can prove that the aftermarket intake caused a particular issue.....since the intake feeds the turbo there is certainly room for "screwage".

well, it all depends on the dealer and what warranty claim they are up against. my dealer is cool with me brining in my car with a catless downpipe, WMI and running a 100 octane tune; but they told me to return it to stock before making any serious warranty claim. they all know we like to tune our Audis.

oddly enough - $45 bones to Texas is what they quoted me for shipping too. I balked & whoever it was that I talking to, said, well it's a big box & that there were no overages - that's just what UPS or whoever it was charged them. Found it a bit hard to swallow...as I was in ear shock at the time

sent a PM to Stephen inquiring & he said he'd look into it, but have yet to hear back.
