I'm not sure how but I am getting BETTER gas mileage now that I am chipped and have the exhaust.

Joel explained it on a post a little bit ago and Lou expanded on it.

Basically they advanced timing more aggressively, so you are getting more power with the same amount of fuel - so as such you can back off the pedal a little bit and still get the same level of accel and performance you were getting before, using less fuel to do that with. This will ultimately result in better MPG. I'm definitley getting better too, 1/2 thorugh first tank and I should hit about 300 miles this tank, which is normal for me - but I have been drving the hell out of the car this tank, which is not normal

I've been driving like normal.... putz around in "D" coming to work listening to sports radio. On the way home I'm in "S" and hammering on it through traffic and on the frwy. I would have had to get gas by now (220 miles) but I still have a 1/4 of a tank left.

This is an added bonus for sure. So really.... you could say buying APR software is like saving money?!? ;)

LOL I think someone actually did some rough math saying that if it averages 8% better fuel economy, it could pay for itself in a few years!

On DSG equipped cars that do not have the sport diff, we have an "S" mode below "D". On DSG equipped cars that DO have the sport diff, there is only "D" and manual modes.

But in sport diff / ADS DSG cars, you can switch to Dynamic and that is basically S mode (you will see S on your dash).

Yep, which puts not only the engine/throttle into "S" mode, but also the DSG shift characteristics, Sport Diff, and steering into "S"/Dynamic mode.

Yes it was 55k miles. It was based on one owners range on a single tank before and after the APR tune.
