Dude, call up Prince at Vast and get a custom tune. They made my K03 S4 run amazing.

well being where i am a plug and play is probably the only option for me. i am probably getting the apr flash, but i was just curious as what the opinions were of jet's stuff. custom tune would be great, but doesnt that require the car to be on the dyno?

For plug and play, commonly called OTS (off the shelf) around here, APR and GIAC are popular options.

A custom tune doesn't require dyno time. Many guys call up site sponsors like EPL or Vast and work the tuner on a certain type of file. I told Vast I wanted a more "conservative" tune and they worked with me and developed a file which fit my needs. For example I specified exactly what peak boost I was comfortable running and also got a stock program loaded on the ECU. When my needs changed they were able to code out the rear 02s and change other parameters of the tune.

Bottom line is I was very happy with the results and feel the tune was a tremendous value given the cost of OTS chips around. Often there are forum members with software who will help you take logs and send to the tuner for file revision.

Feel free to PM me with any more questions. Make sure you address common failure items such as the TBB, DVs and any boost leaks before chipping. Get a boost gauge and possible a new N75 before chipping the car.

I had GIAC before and threw CEL's all the time for misfires.....Jet I used for my Toyota 4runner. I didn't know they made chips for Audis. Looking to get the APR chip for my next S4... along with their components..

Really depends on what you want. I know that a GIAC X K03 car will blow the doors off many other tunes, but it comes at the cost of your turbos. Also, from what I hear, power delivery is not very linear, and is rough. I mean, they are fast, but they essentially hold 20+ psi to redline. KO3's cannot safely hold that much boost, and will eventually cook the seals, and bye bye turbos. As for APR, I think they are more conservative, and they are a very solid choice because you have the assurance that what you are getting is good. I am running an MTM. Very Very Very Very smooth power, lots of low down torque, but it falls on its face past 5300 rpms and is certainly not the fastest. I've heard good things about ASP software also. Its totally up to you. Just depends on you priorities. I have been thinking a lot lately about getting a custom tune to be conservative, yet a bit stronger than the MTM.

Go APR if you want your car to run good, go custom if you want your car to run great. All cars are made different and will perform different with OTS tunes. Since your asking here is our input, but its your car go with whatever you want.

what do custom tunes generally cost? Say from EPL or VAST? If I wanted, could I call them, tell them where I want boost to taper and stuff like that, and they could just flash my ECU?

5-600 I believe, call them up and tell them what your trying to get out of your car. I can't really speak for them but it's best to call/email them and see what they can do for you. Also anyone that is a vast reseller can do revisions on your car (as long as they have the cable). It's great because I'm 30min from vast, really a great company and a good bunch of guys.

Damn that makes me worried...my revo hits 21 and holds 18 to redline...power delivery is smooth except the fact that everytime it will hit 21ish...then drop to 15-16 and right away go back up to 18. Idk why it does that

I've got Stratmosphere and it really flattens out after initial boost. My buddy also has Revo/K03 and his car is ridiculous when compared to my tune. I can't wait to get another ECU so I can go Revo!

Call Prince at VAST! Best possible option. With OTS "doritos cooler ranch" you cant go back and say "can you adjust this chip to be a nacho cheese flavor?"

Your car is probably boost leaking, or has some other problem. Maybe a bad boost regulation (n75) valve. Try an H-version n75. They work better with holding boost on aftermarket (aggressive) software.
