Do '07 RS4s comes with working Voice and Mode buttons

I purchased and '07 RS4 with the Premium package earlier this year and I noticed that the Voice Activation button and the Mode button on the steering wheel don't work. The Audi service consultant that did the inspection on the vehicle before I bought it told me that the steering wheel was changed to the Euro wheel. Before the guy sold the car he put back the OEM wheel and the buttons haven't work since then. The service consultant told me when I bring it over here to contact Audi and see if they will cover it under warranty since there is no record of the wheel ever being changed.

I called Audi but they claim the voice and mode buttons on the wheel aren't supposed to work because I have Nav. The buttons are canceled because everything is controlled from there but I can't activate my bluetooth via voice activation without the button.

Is Audi's info accurate? The car has the buttons but the buttons don't work from the factory? I find that pretty hard to believe.

Do any RS4 owners have both buttons working?

Are you sure you have the Bluetooth option? That is separate from the premium and navigation packages.

Nav has nothing to do with it. I had Nav and Bluetooth and everything worked fine.

'Mode' will access your phonebook on the DIS. The voice button initiates voice-dialing. Your vehicle may not be coded for bluetooth if you can't access it from the wheel or the RNS-E...

My bluetooth works. I can receive and make calls no problem. It is simply that the buttons don't do anything right now.

Your dealer should be able to fix it. AoA is full of it. Like MrPerfect said, Nav has nothing to do with whether the buttons work or not. Probably needs VAGCOM to recode it. Searching on here you should be able to find the settings needed...then find someone local to VAG it for you.

    Correct,

If it works, then you need to recode it for bluetooth (the DIS, steering wheel, and NAV) I had to go through it a couple months ago while doing a retro-fit for another car.

The funny thing is that the AofA rep took 3 weeks to get me an answer and apparently she contacted their German counterparts to find out if the car was sold with the buttons working. Her findings were obviously wrong. On top of that, 2 dealerships in Toronto told me the exact same thing as the AofA rep.

I have the Vag-Com cable coming from Ross-Tech so I will see if recoding fixes the problem.

    Thanks for the help guys!
