    Trunk Latch Sensor and Display

Someone has to know something about this.

When I pop my trunk it doesn't show open on the the display on the cluster. Also if the trunk is open I can arm the alarm. This is not supposed to happen. It isn't suppose to arm until after the trunk is closed. It's not the switch. I've tested it with a multimeter. Also the trunk light never comes on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

tested the handle switch the key switch and the latch switch, and they are all good. I removed the whole Assembly out of the trunk, and still nothing that was resolved. I can't believe know else on here has had this issue. I've only found one other post on the entire internet about this and of course no one has posted a resolution to the issue.

I don't know what to tell you man, but I would look into the truck light not working. It might lead you to a wire that is bad that doesn't go to the key latch switch.

There's a circuit board in the electrical system of all the latch modules, sometimes the solder joints go bad. Same thing on my right-rear door; everything tested fine, but the thing didn't register open- What I did was solder a wire 'around' the circuit board from the microswitch to the harness. Basically get your test light out/ multimeter and test the wires in the electrical connection to the latch, find out which wire that when grounded turns the dash indicator or the courtesy lamps on. Better yet and what I did was have my laptop out with VCDS in the proper measuring block to tell me the state of the latch.
Then solder a wire to that wire back to the microswitch, again you'll have to test to see which side of the switch to solder it to- but you're basically bypassing the board to the harness. ...
Or its a broken wire waaaay back in somewhere.

Can you give me pic of what your talking about. I've already replaced the blue micro switch in the latch.

Here are the codes I pulled form the CCM today.

My plate lights wernt working and the only thing i could find was that the plug went bad. The plug actually has four wires. Two go to the acuator and two for the plate lights. My actuator works fine but the plate lights were receiving no power. Dont know why it happened but i had to bypass the switch to get power to the lights.

Ok so after 3 hours of testing and fixing there is what I came up with and fixed my problem. It seem that the one wire that controls the micro switch in the trunk latch broke inside the rubber gromet tube on the left side of the trunk. I ran a new wire and did some patch work and bam trunk lights work and the Display is now showing the proper information with the trunk open. Also the alarm arms when the trunk is closed only now. Thanks god!

Sounds to me like you need a trunk latch or wiring issue. The micro switch in the latch is clearly not reading open but always reading closed. Hence why the alarm will arm and the light does not come on. Trace the wires there bound to be a broken one or a bad micro switch in the latch.
