after looking at the prices of Spacers...I was thinking that it may be possible to make my own fairly easily with solidworks and a CNC mill. Anybody done it? Is the standard material aluminum?

Sure, having the design tools, and a CNC mill, it's a practical plan. Material is usually a high strength aluminum alloy, then anodized.

yeah, you can even just buy one pair for mock-up, take it to the machine shop and ask if they can duplicate it for a lot cheaper than buying it from vendors.

alrighty thanks guys....I was just curious seeing as it seems like if all spacers are is a machined piece of aluminum then there is some absurd profit margin.

yea i've never purchased spacers from a website, every time I've put them on a car I had them made by a buddy machinist of mine. Costs about half the price of spacers online and they are always a perfect fit
