    HPFP option?

Alright I have been doing a lot of research on the HPFP upgrade. I know there are a lot of kits out there and then there is APR. I know that APR is the safe bet if your Fuel pump has decent mileage on it. What about buying a new oem pump then buying the internals and doing it yourself, would save a pretty penny and should work fine? I don't know if I'm making much sense basically I don't want to pay 1K for a fuel pump and I don't want to send mine off and not be able to use my car for some time. Also is there anything I should know about buying a new oem fuel pump like models or brands to stay away from because they seem to be all the same and the same price roughly 300 shipped. Any criticism welcome, good idea bad idea?
