Hi, guys...i have got a 2010 A4 B8 1.8TFSI with normal Halogen light. Just bought the Xenon Headlights with DRLs from some eday UK seller and try to convert my halogen light to Xenon light. I ordered a suitable J519 controller as the lights were from a 2009 S4 and my car is 2010. Ibelieve i should my all the parts and ope it works. Has anyboby got any knowledge about this? will the lights work well?

Will it still have the Auto on/off function and the leaving/coming home functions??

    Thanks for help!

Everything should work fine. The only thing that will not work will be the electronic height adjustment for the light, but other than that everything should be fine. You can even VAG it to make the LED light up for leaving and coming home functions.

Not sure why you ordered the J519 controller, only if your controller doesn't have a suffix or with suffix "A" then you'll need to replace them.

    Thanks so much, tOn13..
I actually went to an AUDI dealer to set it up..later they called me said the controll does not let you code the bi-beam, so the bi-beam does not work..My suffix for the controller is K i believe, and they ordered one end with D. The part number for the light is 8K0 941 004 D...
Are you sure you will have the light sensor for auto on/off function? I just got an email from kufatec says the conversion will not have

Geothermal are you in the UK? If so you might want to ensure you have the auto leveling feature as I don't think you'll pass the MOT with out it.

If your not in the UK and your car is LHD then the UK xenon will have the wrong beam pattern and will blind oncoming traffic.

As for the LH/CH auto feature if you didn't have it to begin with you won't get it with the addition of the xenons. You'll need the light/rain module glue to your windscreen. There is a seperate thread for that.

You may want to also look at the tread on the halogen to xenon conversion.

Thanks haroulli.. I am in Australia and the reason for me to get the light from the UK is because they are all RHD..Thanks for the reminder anyway :)
For the LH/CH and Auto on/off feature, are you saying if i have the feature with my original halogen light then i will continue to have it after the conversion because the change of headlight will not afftect that switch?

    Thanks heaps

    Hi geothermal,

I'm from sydney. Are you installing the lights yourself? I think someone in sydney has done the halogen to xenons before. I haven't done it as mine already came with xenons from the factory.

No, i asked an audi dealer to do it and it ends up a compatible J519 controller is needed. That s why i have to order one. I called my people and they do not know how to do it and may result lose of warrenty, that s why i asked Audi. Anyway, has the guy you know in sydney done the job successfuly? With all functions except auto-leveling...Cheers

They charge 1600 together with the controller and labor..I have called so many place and no one can do it or they claim it may cause lose of warrenty. Besides it may require AUDI do activate the controll as well.. So.. I have not take the car there yet, but got all quote.

Try to get the genuine ballasts on ebay or somewhere. They are much cheaper.

My car came with CH/LH functions. What I enabled was for the LED to be part of that CH/LH function, which is changing byte 6 bit 3 in the Central Elect module.

Regarding with install, I did change my control module to enable the high beam and it costs me 2 hours labour from Audi to activate the controller (roughly $300). The controller itself I bought it from ebay.de for $150 including everything shipped to here.

If you have your own VAG cable it's much cheaper to do it yourself and really it's not hard at all.
