    Motor mounts

My second B6 is a USP wagon primarily driven by my girl friend. It's an APR K04 car dsmic and exhaust. It had a bad motor mount on the passenger side of the car. I used 034 Motorsport's motor and transmission street density mounts. I run them in my sedan and like them. She is not loving them. I can understand it does vibrate a little more than the stock mounts and also transmits more sound through the car's subframe. So here is my question. What can I upgrade to that will not be as harsh, but still offers a gain from stock? I am looking at B5 S4 or RS4 motor mounts, and B7 RS4 transmission mount. I know that the motor mounts will work. Does any one know it the B7 RS4 trans mount will work? What are you guys running and how do you like them? Also, there will be a set of 034 motor and trans mount in the classifieds with 200 miles on them soon.

I absolutely hated my 034 motor and tranny mounts. (Street density on motor and track on tranny). Vibrated way to much. I would look into the RS4 motor mounts.

I like my 034 mounts, but never drove an avant with them. I would be interested in the Transmission mount since I haven't done that one yet.

Why not just go OEM? They're nice and soft.

Like I said, I want some improvement over stock. There is way too much slop in the drivetrain.

I have the 034 motor mounts on my car with no vibration. I have the street density, with a neuspeed snub and stock tranny mount. It did take time to adjust both the motor mounts and the snub to get everything working properly. I had the motor mounts done at a local Audi shop because I was concerned I would not be able to adjust them correctly, but when I go the car back it felt like I had a diesel under the hood. Turns out the "recommended" Audi shop I had mine installed at did not even adjust the snub after installing the new motor mounts. I would double check fit, and make sure everything was done properly. There really shouldn't be an increase over stock, otherwise just go with OEM I don't think the RS4 are worth it.

Does anyone know if the B7 RS4 transmission mount will work with the 1.8T 6speed transmission?

I have the 034 mounts in my sedan, like I said. There is an increase in vibration and sound. Not unlivable for me, just not comfortable for my girl friend. I understand too, it makes the Avant resonate when you are coasting and the steering wheel and pedals vibrate. So I am going to change them with something that suits her needs better. I call it noise abatement.

Are u sure its adjusted on there correctly? And that u have the correct street density?
My street density is sooooooth as butter.
Only gets rough on cold motor and when blowby reduces the oil level by a 1/2 quart or so.

i would suggest the B5 RS4 engine mounts. the S4 guys love them and they make WAAAAAAAY more torque than we do, i'm not sure if the B7 trans mount fits so i can't help you with that one.
