ABS wheel speed sensor - removal

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
It started with the ABS and Brake light on/blinking.
While trying to get the ABS wheel speed sensor out (PB Blaster soaking, turning, pulling, screw drive wedging, etc.), I likely ruined one (a good one).
I had to change wheel bearings, so the hub had to come off anyway. Even then, I could not get the sensor out. Ended up drilling it out.

But now I have to replace the other sensor (that I likely damaged with all the wiggling, twisting, turning).

Certainly, I hope I get it out somehow. But if not (its the front driver side sensor), do I have to remove the hub?
    Use heat (probably not)?

    Any tips, suggestions?

I did the same thing. Tried getting it out, tore it up and ended up having to take the upright off and punching it out. If I had to do it again, I would probably try and heat the upright right around the abs sensor.

I ruined my abs sensor trying to remove it for a
Wheel bearing job. I ended up clipping the wire and then reconnecting it after removing and replacing the bearing from the hub. Tightly wrapped it with electrical tape.

    slide hammer, 1/2" all-thread, a handful of washers -about a dozen 1/2" + a few 3/4", 1" + bigass washers, and of course a few 1/2" (3/4" or 19mm wrench) nuts
    cutoff tool, chisel
-no need disassemble like you guys are trying to do...

if anyone is about to do this and wants to know the easy way, I'll walk you through as long as you supply photos of the steps.

This way takes only about 1/3 of the time and you won't break anything (like ABS sensors ;) ) -and you don't need a press, you don't need to pull the knuckles off the car, and did I mention you won't tear up your ABS sensors!

However this would be ridiculous to try explaining without pictures, and I'm not about to take mine apart just for photos and to explain something I already know how to do.
jkhperformancetech@gmail is my addy in case someone wants to reach me, since I'm only on this forum about once a week and sometimes even less.
