Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey guys, im about to go pick up a nice set of OEM amg monoblocks that were freshly refinished with a polished lip for very cheap, i just want to know your opinions on how they would look on my santorian, at the ride height im currently at, maybe a bit lower, i dont want to slam it because i like to corner fast and such=] Heres a pic of my car as it is now, and a pic of the monoblocks

(not actual pic, the ones im looking to get also say amg on them.)

sick. i've got some 17' staggered monos from my old benz with all weathers on them that i've been wanting to throw on for winter. i test fitted and bolts from audi are too large around to fit thru the AMGs. im guessing yours will pose the same problem since they are genuine oem monoblocks, so maybe someone has the answer for us to fit these on. i've always thought they would look sick on our rides so glad to see someone with the same taste ;) will def. be checking in on this thread.
ps slam the shit out of your car on 'em!

    not advised, personally.
benz hubs are alot bigger then audi, so you’ll need the hub rings, major ones.

its been done alot, but test have shown + weight. on a couple levels.

its possible but i don’t think its worth it IMO

I'm not sure if the fact hub rings are needed is really an issue--did you mean spacers perhaps (and I'm not saying spacers are necessarily bad either)? Hubrings are needed for a variety of aftermarket wheels, including BBS wheels. If they are the proper size and installed correctly, there should be no issue.

mercedes wheels dont fit audi wheel, yeah, the same bolt patteren fitment, but the hubs simpoly dont fit...

no i didnt mean spacers, maybey they willl help with any gap, but the mec hubs are larger then the audi hubs, so we need to fill that gap.

i heard sometrhing about the 96 wheels on, but i still think they will need hubrings..
    idk..

OP do it, if i could i have a picture (on one of the 5 computers at home) of a set of 18x8.5/18x9 (iirc) amg mono blocks. looked sick.

having said they looked great, it was a silver car, with a light salmon colored wheel. and it still looked good.

my BBS RFs were benz fitment with hub rings and my current BBS CHs have hub rings as well...not really seeing what the problem is. OP, benz wheels use a more narrow wheel bolt/lug so you will need to bore the lug holes out slightly. again, not a really big deal for a wheel shop

yea thanks for the responses guys, hubcentric rings are no problem, a pro shop around here charges 45 bucks for the set installed, im just worried about the bolts and drilling them out, but im confused since the guy im buying them from has them on a mk6 gti and hes selling them with lugs would that work on my car, could they be drilled already by chance? (he doesnt know much so i dont even bother asking), someone help me out with this so i can go pick them up lol

I think all Benz wheels are 5-112, which wont require any drilling to fit an audi, but the hub centric rings are still needed

Isn't Mercedes a 12mm lug hole whereas Audi is 14mm.

I really like AMG Monoblocks on B5's as well.

if they dont, can't you just get a stud kit from 034/ecs that works?

Holy misinformation, Batman! Some people should really step away from the keyboard when they don't know what they're talking about.

Yes, Mercedes and Audi share a 5x112 lug pattern.

Mercedes wheels have a 66.56mm hub bore, Audi has a 57.1mm. Hub rings for them are cheap and work great. MANY aftermarket wheel companies utilize them and they are perfectly safe and make your wheels fit as if they were machined with hub bore from the factory.

Some of the older Mercedes used 12mm wheel bolts, Audi uses 14mm. Drilling out the holes bigger is very simple. Just get a good 3/5" drill bit and go to town on each lug hole being careful the hold the drill perpenticular (straight up). The bit will self-center itself in the existing holes. I've done this dozens of times without an issue.

No more Audis, but I can't seem to leave this place.

CL500 - Are those 12mm or 14mm? If 14mm you should be all set. I have an older set of 17X7.5 AMG Monoblocks, but with the 12mm holes :(
I am going to try to drill them - some ppl over on vortex report great success...already have MB -> Audi hub-centric rings.

I bought a set of Mercedes Six Slots and the bolt holes are 14mm. I think it all depends on the year (I think).
