Ok... Let me start by repeating i have a clunking noise. Yes I don't really know how to spell "Clunking". I have had it for 11 months. I think it is getting worse. Does it over bumps, cracks, pebbles. My car is lowered so it will feel it. I started hearing a different clunking crackle wrinkle noise. So i replaced upper control arms. The crackle wrinkle noise went away. Those bushings were all torn up. So it is understandable. I am about to do the lower control arms. SOMEONE told me about a Strut bearing???? Whats that? Could that be it?

The lower control arms will probably take care of it. They are the ones that go bad the most often as they carry the most load. They are hard to check, though. You have to pry down at the ball joint location while the wheel is unloaded (in the air) to find the play. Wiggling the wheel will not find it.

Also, most FWD cars have a "sturt bearing" incorporated into the upper strut mount. The failing of that piece can cause a noise over bumps. Our cars have 4-link front suspension and do not have a bearing like that.
