    Question Broken Window

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well... My window gave up the other day. I own a 2001 S4. I rolled it down, when I went to roll it up I heard an audible "chunk" and heard pieces fall in the door. I pulled of the door panel and found this:

I zip-tied the window up quickly and didn't look to see if the other one broke (the pictured bit is from the front).

    Questions:

    1. Is it possible to just buy the plastic piece?
    2. If so, where is the best place to buy?
    3. If not, is part number 8D0837461 the correct part?
    4. If 8D0837461 is the correct part, how does $141 sound for it?

    Thank you in advance,

    Chris

You can't buy just the green piece, you would have to buy the whole window regulator. I broke mine also and replaced the whole thing myself ( pain in the a$$). Here's the link http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B5_S4-...terior/Window/ . It's cheaper here.

You can actually buy a similar piece off an a6 and mod it to fit. PN: 4B0-873-463-A or 4B0-837-463. They cost around $5-7 off dealer. pm if you need help.

Here are guide and references to the fix.

First link isn't working for me - I'd love to read more on this.

And yes, 8D0837461 is the correct part number for the left front regulator.

passatworl link isnt working for me either, i ghave a window that shifts position and gets stuck in the track. i took it apart and it looks like the green clips are worn. i would love to figure out a repair without changing the entire regulator.

Nice! Added it to my DIY list - has anyone tried this on a B5 A4?

Thanks. What was so difficult about it?

I done this to my 97 and 00 a4. It was lot easier to replace the clip itself then the whole window regulator. Been 4 years already and i have no problem. The OEM clip for our car are junk!! just look at the comparison and you will see the difference.
