    Oil Level after service ?

Just had my 3.0 tdi serviced today, checked the book was stamped and the service indicator had been reset, never thought to look at the oil level indicator.
It now only shows half full any one else experienced this or is it as i suspect because although the dealer has charged for 6.9 ltrs of oil they've only put 5 Ltrs in?

You need to give it more time. The oil indicator will usually take a day to accurately read the level. If you find it at this level after a few days then you may want to phone your dealership. You run no risk driving your car right now. Trust me, my car goes through a quart of oil every 2000-2500 miles. And Audi assures me this is "normal". Ha! At least I have a CPO warranty for 6 years/100,000 miles.

or you can be like me and have service take 3 times to get an oil change right.

    1) 25k service, apparently all fluids were checked and topped.
    2) oil level read below minimum (empty bar in MMI). take back to service
    3) MMI says 'please drain oil' - take it in for a third trip so they can take some oil out.

just sayin'...sometimes it is the dealer. if this turns out to be a problem, tell them to bring you in a dip-stick on the house, since they've made it clear you need to double check their oil work.

6.9ltrs in 3.0 V6 TDI hand book should tell you, sounds like you have a major problem if using 5 Ltrs in about a 1000 miles, but a qrt is only about 1 Ltr, I would say thats still excessive, I've not used any in 9000 miles and my old 1.8T was the same.
