I have a 2010 Deep Sea Blue manual S5, prestige, side assist, sports rear diff pkg, carbon atlas, front plate delete with 9,000 miles on it.
Pros:
1. Beautiful car from every angle
2. Wonderful sound from the V8
3. Very good MMI system once you get used to all it has to offer
4. Great versatility with fold down rear seats as well as pass through
5. Powerful Bang & Olufsen 14 speaker system that sounds great
6 Many import options for media including SD cards
7. Very high quality workmanship in the interior
8. Audi Side Assist adds some security to uncertain lane changes
9. Handling is awesome with the sports rear differential
10. Problem free except for repeated clutch issues
11. Great leg room in front seats
12. Standard with eight airbags (front, side, curtain knee) x2
13. Tires look like they'll go 25,000 miles as they stand today
14. Rattle free after 9,000 mile
Cons:
1. Audi clutches have been a source of problems including vibration and sticking
2. Paint quality is not as good as it should be. Not much depth and clearcoat scratches easily
3. Metal stamping is not great as you can see many imperfections in the body panels
4. Headlight projectors are not as good as you'd expect with weak cutoff on top
5. V8 is very thirsty with any type of spirited driving. I'm averaging 15mpg on city/hwy combined tanks and have only gotten 20 on a highway tank while driving without spirited driving.
6. Fuel tank is too small for this thirsty V8. Fill up every 240 miles with 16 gallons
7. V8 is not very powerful for what it costs to run it.
8. Engine response is no where near as good as the 3.0 v6t in the S4
9. Fuel door only opens by pressing the fuel door. I don't like to get my fingerprints on the paint.
10. Moonroof only tips open
11. Brake dust is very plentiful
12. Door glass only 1/8 inch thick compared to 3/16 on my other cars (Lexus sc430 and Dodge Charger R/T)
13. Front fenders don't flow perfectly from the doors when viewing reflections. (due to materials used on these panels)
14. Gas guzzler tax of $1,300 on manual. I didn't pay GGT on Lexus 300hp, Charger 340hp, or Corvette 400hp, why this Car with 354hp?
Just my view on many aspects of the car. I do enjoy it but am very disappointed in the engine response especially when the V6T is available for Audi to switch to.
