    Burning Rich?

I’ve noticed that when I start my car up and let it warm up that I smell a rich burning smell. It happens in the mornings or after I let the car sit and it completely cools down. I almost like the smell, but I think its burring rich. Until it warms up and the RPM’s drop gray/white color smoke comes out of the exhaust I don’t think its oil smoke since it disappears quickly. Im not sure if this is what Audi’s do in cooler weather but the mornings are in the 50’ and 60’s now. During the summer’s when it was in the 80’s in the mornings I didn’t notice it or smell the exhaust.

If it's white smoke and has somewhat of a sweet smell, then you're burning water/coolant. Which my have to do or result in an issue with your turbo.

I'd bring it into the dealer if you have a warranty still.

No mods, no cel's are on. yea it is almost a sweet smell. You can smell it if you stand in the front of the car the smell takes up a large area but the smoke will come out about 6" from my exhaust and then it dissipates. Its not like a fire smoke or burning smoke. So maybe it is coolant. It's not under warranty anymore... :( what can I do to see if it is coolant/turbo

Is your coolant resvoir even low. I would put it to the prescribed line first and drive it for a few days and see if it goes down. You could pressure test it, but I have a feeling you don't have a pressure tester.

^^^Check your coolant level. If it's low, potentially filling it will quell the issue. Otherwise I'd bring it in to an independent mechanic.

I don’t have a pressure tester. Im actually scared to work on this car… its not like my old jeep O|||||||O

Nothing to be afraid of just nuts and bolts. Let us know. Also I know everyone bags on the dealerships, but independts could cost ya more if they don't know what their doing. Just make sure you find a reptuable shop.
