    B5 A4 Bose Audio Issues

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just purchased a B5 A4 with Bose speakers, and noticed there was the sound of a blown speaker coming from the front passenger door. Just replaced all the speakers in the door, and still have the blown speaker crackly sound in only that area. All other speakers sound fine.

Not much of a car audio person, so i'm not sure what to look at next for this (Bose amp, etc). Any ideas?

Just wondering if you ever figured out the issue on your car?
I'm having the same issue with the bose in my car except on the drivers side.

I've been having a similar problem, but it's intermittent. So, of course, it never happens when I bring the car to the dealer (third time now) and they can't reproduce the problem. A bud with a little knowledge thought maybe the crossover was going bad. Let us know if you get it diagnosed/fixed. Will do the same.

I scanned, and nothing audio related. Replaced with a used speaker that seemed in good working order, and still get the same dead speaker noise.

Wondering if it's amp related, or bad wiring to that door. I possibly just got another bad speaker in there.

Will look into it again this weekend and report back.

If you've replaced the speaker with a new stock one, the next items to check are the head unit and Bose amp.
If you want to replace the h/u, they're rather cheap from the likes of ECS, ie. less than $50.
If it's still faulty, the Bose amp is playing up. You could try tracking down a used one, they regularly come up for sale in the classifieds.
