DDM HID Fog lights install problem

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am f'd! i got up this morning and took my front bumper off to install my new DDM HID kit for my fog lights. After a few minutes removing screws and installing the kit w/ error cancellers the system does not power on.

I've been reading the forums for a while and thinking about doing this for a long time and i see that some of you have actually installed the slim ballast 35w w no problem.

ok... so here i am, the bumper is still off the ground with the kit installed, when i turn the car on and the lights not even a flicker. I tried removing the error eliminator and still nothing. I see that the bulbs say 55w but i dont know if that matters since i have the slim ballast 35w, i should be getting something. Do i need to do some vag?

    Please help me!

I installed mine a few weeks ago with no problems. Are you sure you have the ground going to ground and power going to power? Did you actually start your car and then try to turn them on?

I know it's off topic a bit, but really you have to take off the whole bumper?
I read if you got small hands you can do it all from the front by taking out the grills...

I'm pretty sure you have too, its tricky enough getting the ballast and all the other stuff a nice spot to install too. I used some strong double sided tape and could have never done it without removing the bumper.

Yes i bougth them from DDM Tuning directly with the error decoder, i tested the power and it was ok. so after checking the polarity of the cables i saw that the stupid connectors are reversed (thanks theklug), i fixed and they turned on nicely.

Yes, i know it sucks but you have to remove the bumper because if you try to reach it from underneath the car the because of the intercooler ducts block the access. It only takes couple of extra minutes to remove the bumper.

    thank you for your support.

If you have an S-Line bumper you really don't have to remove the bumper...just pull out the housings around your fogs. But if your non S-Line then I've heard you have to remove the bumper.
