Woke up this morning to a package from PURE MOTORSPORTS!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Yes, I said Pure Motorsports. As some of you know, I have not seen eye to eye with Mike for one past issue. Well, he called me and went above and beyond what any Merchant would have even done, to win me over, and did he ever.

All I can say is that I will be heading to Pure Motorsports as my first go to shop for all my needs for both my Audi and my VW. Thanks Mike, you ROCK!

That being said, on to what arrived, which by the way, arrived way before I though it would.

I will be installing them this week and if needed I can do a DIY if anyone is interested. I hear that the front shock needs to be removed to get these in, but I am hoping that this isn't the case as I'm running Motorsports.

Without pulling the wheel off, it looks like the front uppers can be removed without taking off the shock. I'm probably missing something that I will realize when I get in there.

Below is a pic of the stock suspension system. See how the spring is in the way. It's not like that with the Motorsports. However, I think my other issue is going to be how the bolt slides out of the UCA. I think that the underside of the shock tower is going to stop the UCA bolt from coming completely out. Maybe I can just loosen the shock tower bolts without removing the shock.

If anyone has any insight (Koolade), chime in!

Once Again, Thanks Mike, I am grateful to you. Ok, off to.

Mine have been on for about 4 wks. I removed the whole setup, but understand your situation. I would say if you have the right tools it is possible. I agree that with lessening the 3 shock tower bolts the UCA bolts should have room to slide out. Good luck. I case you didn't know stern ships the control arms at stock length so if your alignment is good you have time to re align without fear severe tire wear. I did mine about 2 wks after install and my numbers were almost dead on from previously...I just had them dial in 0 toe and 1.3 degree camber.

I recall you installed the MS kit yourself, with your exp you should be able to install the arms without removing the struts. I have the same setup as you and did not have to remove them. YOu will want to lower them a tad though,

I have seen that coilover setup on another RS4 that came into the shop and couldn't find it any where when I searched. The H&R, Vogtland, and Stasis coilovers kits come up when I look on sites but not anything that looks like that. Please where did you get that Motorsports coilover setup?

Also nice phone, I have the same thing.

You're right, I did install the MS kit myself. If loosening the 3 strut tower bolts to lower the top plate is all that is needed, I'll be in heaven.

I purchased my Stasis Motorsports from Brian before he started Rotiform.

What do the Motorsports that you are familiar with look like. Blue springs (Hyperco)? Other than spring color, they should look identical.

You can probably take the three top strut bolts out and slide the top over a little bit to get the front upper control arm bolt out.

The Motorsports I remember were just like yours with the red inverted springs. I will do some more searching for Stasis parts and see if I can find anything.

The picture of the Motorsport setup on the Stasis site are not for the B7 body. I don't know what car they are from. It's just a reference picture.

Very nice indeed. Had to sell off a few exhaust systems in my backyard to get them, but hey, you gotta do what you gotta do. What's up with your car? BTW, Miss you guys... Lets get together and have a drink or five.

hahahaha!!! Yup, you gotta do what you gotta do sometimes! Car is great, she's got 49K on the clock. Wondering if I should CPO or extend warranty. Don't really have the cash for either. The water pump in the Q5 broke last week. Apparently there's a recall, of course my mail still goes to LA, so I didn't get it. The people at Allison Audi in Reno are really good, they fixed the car in one day and gave us a 2011 Q5 as a loner. SWEET!

Also have to get winter wheels/tires for the Q5...looking at these Wheels and some Blizzaks for deep snow traction!

We are planning to be in LA this weekend with a Uhaul to get the big stuff from Culver City up to Mammoth. I really need to rent out the condo, so everything has to be moved out of there this weekend. Maybe we can shoot for a drink or two, I'll talk it over with the boss.

I was thinking the same thing too. Looks like it just rolled of the factory line. This car looks like it has never seen a wet road.

I actually took it out the other day and it ended up raining. Had to wait it out under a freeway underpass for a hour.

Just hooking up a few co-workers. They want to pay but I'm not charging. Dropped $700 at Detailers Domain, so I'm pretty dialed in. The cars are gonna look like glass.

That's interesting. I had a bad experience with Allison on a few fronts:
    1. They did an oil change and said they didn't have loaners. What determines whether you get a loaner or not?
    2. They dented and chipped the paint on my car and claimed it wasn't their fault. They eventually relented and repainted the bumper, twice since they screwed it up the first time
    3. They didn't know how to initiate an oil consumption test after I was very clear that I wanted one (it could be b/c they don't think I really need one)
