    Finally!!! 19" VMR 701 on H&R / Bilstein - PHOTOS

I finally changed my "stock non-S, SUV, tractor, ugly ass suspensions" that I had. I have to admit it was a big PITA. It took lots of hours all together(more than 10), I did it in three days, a few hours every day after work. I also got the RS4 sway bar in (I had to readjust the exhaust). I used the DIY's I found here for both replacements. I have to say that I didn't take the brake calipers off, I didn't use any pry bar to get any of the spring out and didn't drop the rear subframe either. I just had the spring compressor Autozone has and it did a pretty good job.

And of course I took some pictures after all that work. I'm happy with what I got.

They look good! On another note....not sure if you like how far your exhaust tips stick out, but if you'd like to tuck them in, you can do it yourself. I like mine to be flush with the bumper, but to each his own...here's a link on how to fix, if you're interested: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ICS?highlight=

Dam! Sweet man. Totally different car for the way better. Looks fantastic. Congrats.

(Have to agree on taillights and exhaust tips though. IMO, tips sticking out a bit much and not a fan of the smoked tails. But still, looks great.)

What a change. It looks like a completely different car. I have to agree that changing the suspension is a PITA. I spent nearly 12 hours installing my coilovers over 3 days.

That's great I'll try to get it flush next time I'll have some time. I never really liked it sticking out so much. I just didn't know what to do. Thanks for the tip.

Sure. It really only takes about 20 minutes. I didn't like how far mine stuck out either and was happy to come across that thread. Enjoy your ride!

Mine look like it's sticking out too much to be possible to get it flush IMO. And I think the reason for that is there were some mods done to the exhaust, some cuts and welds and they probably put a longer piece than they cut out(that was done before I got the car). I'll give it a try anyway.

It is superb, a bit stiff as I said above, but that's what is suppose to be right?
I never took the car on the track, but I pushed it as hard as I could in turns, ramps on highways, etc... It sticks to the road. The only drawback is my FWD , but I can live with that for now. My next audi will be a quattro though.

yep, all in the physics of the smoothness of the paint

HP is all about how fast you can travel a certain distance with a given amount of weight..with sleeker brakes your car can accelerate much harder..better bang for your buck than an intake i think

x3...painted tails affect their visibility...trust me....almost smoked the back end of a blacked-out Mercedes one night cuz I couldn't see the damn thing!

Plus painting your tails in most states is illegal...they require red reflectors to be displayed to the rear. I remember that was the issue when everyone was going thru the white-out taillight phase. Just my $0.02

Nice car though, rims look great!

Wow, I knew something was not right and not getting the most hp out of my brake paint. So you're saying I have to match the colo of the car??? Stupid me, I have to paint them black and see the difference.

Definitely go back to stock tails, they just look dirty as is. Plus they'd match your calipers, which would be a nice contrast as well. I prefer a lot lower on 19s, but since you are on springs at least it's definitely better than stock. I'm sure you enjoy the ride more now too, which is definitely important. Overall, not bad lookin, I just can't get over the gross dirty cherry-black tails.

If there were two guys named Hambone and Flippy, which one would you think liked dolphins more? I bet you'd say Flippy, wouldn't you?

But you would be wrong. It's Hambone.

Exactly! I just discovered this awesome thing myself. It's like a chip for your breaks :D

back to being on-topic, the car looks good, but I agree with everyone else, git rid of the tail lights tinting. It looks good on some cars, but black with black, it really doesnt

I've been thinking about removing the laminX lately. I just remember I liket it so much when I put them on, but I think I'm getting bored with the black lights now.
