Red face Pictures - Ibis White with DTM Front Bumper and RS4 Grille!!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Nice sunset in California. It was a Friday so I decided to head out and take couple shots of the car. Hope you find them interesting.

Got the DTM bumper installed for about 2 weeks now and absolutely loving it. the old S-line bumper got hit by a plywood fell off from a truck on the highway. The insurance company covered some expenses and I paid for the differences to get the upgraded parts. I asked the body shop to customize the DTM bumper so it can fit a longer RS4 grille. they cut the frame that holds the bottom of the grill and the RS4 grille just fits right in! I like the longer grille much better than the stock Grille. The gap in the DTM bumper below the grille just does not seem right to me.

The Splitter is nice and I am very pleased with the quality even not OEM. Thank god I don't have to pay $600 just for a splitter!

Now the only problem is the fog light alarm. Some times it will show up and it s very annoying. How are the DTM bumper owners here solve this issue? Some ppl suggested to use resistors but I think a housing also need to be made to prevent the heat melting things. and the 55w resistors are kinda hard to find too so I don't prefer that method. Is it true that Vag-Com cant fix this issue? The only way I can find is to customize the small grilles to fit the fog lights. If you have any ideas or suggestions, I would like to hear them!!

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

i'm with phil on this one, just add the fogs back in. I really dig your car by the way. i think it looks awesome, and that grill seems to work out pretty well.

that actually looks great. first time I've seen a real RS4 grill on a dtm bumper...looks more aggressive than those "modified RS4 mesh in original DTM grilles"...

    x2. Haha, looks real good.

But for the fog issue. I would go with Phil's setup. The S6 LEDs don't look good IMO because it doesn't sit flush with the bumper (seems larger). When the fog retrofit looks very OEM.

Interesting solution, although to me it looks like the car has an unnecessary grill blow your grill. The stock DTM grill with a separation from the main and bottom grills creates the necessary space to suggest that they both have different functions, thus necessitating the existence of the two grills independently. With that separation gone it looks frivolous or a design mistake. To me, Fly's custom non-sline grill fitted with the RS4 mesh is a cleaner solution:

That's just my personal opinion and taste though, and overall your car looks amazing. Just don't forget to get the side grills on there.

Thanks guys!! I have gone a long way to get here. Put lots of hours and money on it. I still remember when I just bought the car and was browsing this forum got excited about all the mods you guys have done and desperate to make my ride unique and stand out on the street. I figured now this is a step-by-step process . Thanks a lot for the inspirations and information you all shared!!!!

Yeah, seems like it. I have spent lots of time on research and could not find any confirmed Vag-com solution that can disable the alarm. If I have to customize sth to add the fog, I will do more search and decide which way to go. I have not make up my mind yet. The RS fog and the LED both look attractive to me.

I just feel it is stupid that Audi designed this DTM version bumper but does not provide a quick solution to disable the fog light alarm. So if I order the bumper from the dealer and ask them to put it on for me, what will they do? They can't give me back my car with an error code....

    Haha you noticed!

I intentionally leave them like that. dont you think the little cross on a white body is an interesting sign? haha.

Since I detached the little side grilles, I got lot more ppl looking on my car even tho I am sure they don't know what's a DTM bumper. They might be confused or just curious . I may fill up the four little holes on the corners to complete the look.

Thanks. I like the grille to be one inch longer make it feel more aggressive. I am thinking about to pain the 2 little standing white sticks into black. They do look out of the picture.

They are stock bi-xenon. I blacked them out when I did the CC mod. Why, do they look different to you?

I love the color and the DTM. Personally I like phils set up better with the RS4 grill mod (still want to do it myself) and think the bumper looks likes its missing something without the side grills.

Great photos and great looking car.
