crazy for s4's under 10k ????

am i crazy for even remotely looking for one?

i mean as long as the maintenance has been done like water pumps turbos belts right? i have NO FUTURE for a stage 3 setup, but i would DEFINETLY like to find a reliable stage 2, or even a WELL cared for stage 1 with coilovers for under 10k. hell even a non chipped s4 with coilovers id be fine with.

Mine was well under $10k. Only stranded me once because of a bad brake line. The car came with Stratmosphere DVs, Neuspeed Catback, GIAC X Chip.

No, you're smart. I owned my last S4 since 2003 and recently sold it at 130k miles for under 10k. The car had EVERY service record.

My car had piggies, a catcback and conservative Vast tune - it ran like a top.

Maintenance records and owner care trump all.

are you crazy? No. Do I think that buying an S4 on K03s with over 100k miles is a pretty big gamble if you are looking for a reliable setup? Yup.

ok now next question is it unreasonable to not lowball these s4's because of the mileage? edmunds/autotrade both avg the cars price around 4-6k. i know you cant really add value to mods but still.

I wouldnt low ball someone with Maintenance records and high miles, it might work; but if the car is a clean example the owner should have his head on straight, and then should laugh at your low ball offer.

another question, if i got the s4 from one of those no name lots, and the stuff hasnt been replaced and the stuff does go out within the dealers 'warranty' you think they'd hastle over the cost/procedure needed to do all that? id rather rely on being stuck with car payments and having the dealerships warranty as back up vs. paying the extra 1-2k for a private party and hope everything was documented correctly.

just get that nogaro blue and dont look back its the best color with the matching interior...there is actually quite a bit of people lookig for that setup

I found my Nogaro here on this site. FULL history of everything that was ever done on the car including fill ups, and a gas milage log since mile 491.

just take your time... i got completely lucky w/ an IMMACULATE Nogaro extremely well maintained not a single leak, creak, etc. I've been in a ton of S4's and none felt so 'factory new' as this one it blew my mind. Got it for well under 10k.

goodness, so pathetic how cheap these cars go for, then destroyed because people can't keep up with them..

Just make sure you can maintain it, and be prepared to cash out at least $5k soon enough

I bought my S4 w/120k miles, completely stock, and chipped it at 122k, now over 130k with no issues. Only major maintenance I've done so far is the TB, and I had to replace the battery. Everything else was good when I bought it, even the TBB was in one piece. I now have a minor leak from the passenger side valve cover, but that's really about it. It's not entirely impossible to get a well running S4 with high mileage. Mine cost 11k (talked down from 15k due to a 6k down payment), 2yrs ago from a dealer, and I'm the 3rd owner.

My buddy just landed a stage 3 (with a fucking wideband and KW's even) for under $10k. I almost fainted. The RS4 clutch blew 2 days later though.

Why wouldn't you want to kick in a few thousand more and get a stage 3? Drive it conservatively and you'll rarely have to worry about anything.

I'd get whatever is the cleanest and with the most records. Sure you could get one that already has k04's but if there rest of the car is a beat turd who cares what turbos are on it.

i just wanna pound it on some coilovers with some 17x8's or 9's all around with a chip tbe, and some meth injection. i thought id never say this but id totally pound some RSs on the green one if i could!

You just outlined my car(that is for sale), coils, tbe, chip, maintenance, but no meth. It leaves something for you though.:)
