Anybody upgraded the Bose head unit to the Navigation model?

Does anybody have any thoughts on upgrading the head unit to the factory navigation model for an 08 S4? Looks like the GPS antenna is integrated into the head unit. I know there are cheaper ways to get navigation in a car these days, but I like the clean factory look. Number 3 is the antenna. Pict is from genuinevwaudiparts.com

Are you talking about the RNS-E?

If so, that's a very popular swap. There are adapter cables out there.

Not to nitpick, but the headunit itself is not "Bose". The headunits are all the same, it's more a matter of whether or not it dumps the signal to a Bose amp or uses its integrated amp.

I did the swap to my S4. I have Bose. I moved the Bose wire into the correct place, but the DSP feature doesn't show up in the sound settings, thus leading me to believe that its using its integrated amp instead of my Bose. Does the head unit have to be coded or programmed for Bose, or should it just recognize it from the Bose wire?

has to be coded in vagcom under radio... set to 'sound system'.

I think this upgrade is possible with the right parts, especially with a STFA adapter sourced from a reputable place.

this is a joke rite! anyways if is not , then yes is an easy swap I did it , you will need an adaptor to go from symphony(stock stereo) to rns-e (factory nav ) if you have a bose system then you need the adaptor with the bose option, then the other thing you will need is either an extension cable for the antena to go from the head unit to the back of the headliner where the antena plug is located, or easier and cheaper a magnetic gps antena that you place behind the cluster and just plug into the head unit , i think that it is , oh you will need the radio removal tools and the rns-e
    Drop den Vorschlaghammer!
