Having some wheels built, have questions.

I am having a set of custom steel wheels built for winter and just wondering what kind of backspacing I need. I am deciding between a 17x9 and an 18x9. I know ET 35 would be too high. What do you guys recommend? I am planning on running a 215 or 225 series tire, because thinner tires are better for winter... And I want some stretch

18's can't go any smaller instead you are going to the track.

a 215 is going to be quite a bit of stretch on a 9. youre going to ruin your wheels if you even touch a curb

    Just out of curiosity.....
Why are you having custom wheels made for winter?

Maybe I should clarify, I am having a set of steelies made. I found a company that does any size, width, offset for CHEAP! I want to run a stretched tire.

Could always have them ready for summer

I would go with 18x9 because if you are going to put a 215 on it then you are probably going to "stance".

I dont have a clue. Sorry. You need to figure out how much back spacing and what will clear what to figure out exactly what you want.
