Has anyone hit the 200k mark?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

I've been helping a buddy of mine look for a winter beater, (97-00 Toyota 4-Runner) and we noticed that tons of them have well over 200k miles on them, a few of them even had over 300,000. It got me thinking if anyone in the B7 section has reached that mark yet. I searched and noticed quite a few in the B5 section and a few in the B6 section have reached, then someone in the B7 section claiming that his dad's friend's car has 190,000 miles and never changed his oil.
I understand the car is quite a bit newer, but there has to be a couple 05.5s that are getting close or have hit the mark by now. At the current rate, my 08 should be there in about 8 years...

I just sold my 4runner that had 296k on it, so for Toyota it's normal. But it would be interesting to hear about the newer Audis with 200+ miles.

Umm... Ok. I asked about a B7 A4. If I wanted to know about your A6 with 210k miles on it, or your 4-Runner with 296k, your dad's 4-Runner with 280k, I would have made it in the chatterbox... Postwhores....

if you take care of your car, and maintain it properly, your b7 can last as long as you need it to. you dont have to worry about carbon build up or anything like that. driving normally and servicing it regularly will help it last. you'll still have shit break every now and then. its car.

At what point in my thread do I ask, "How many of you guys with 97-00 4-Runners have hit the 200k mile mark?

well the first B7's are only 5 years old, that means someone would have to average 40,000 miles/year, that's pretty difficult. It's like driving 110 miles/day. 154 miles/day if you just count weekdays commuting. no way in hell i'm spending 5 years of my life 2 hours a day in my car... no matter how comfortable my leather A4 seats are with seat warmers, lol.

i'm at 93k on an '06 and thought that was high

Ouch. That sounds like a lot of driving.

Have you had any major problem with the car yet? How many times have you changed the cam follower?

How many miles did the car have on it when you bought it?
I've actually been out of the country for the past 4 months, and I'll be back in December. I fee like I've neglected my car for so long. I plan on having a good wrenching session.

I've been thinking about it and I could actually see the Audi being a car that I keep for a long time, maybe even forever. I was the first owner and hopefully the only owner.

I was waiting for you to chime in. I know the last time you posted, you were around 123,000. How long until you hit the 200,000 mile mark?

Excluding the engine, since you don't have a similar set up to stock anymore, have you had any issues with the car?

Look Ethug, I mean EMAXX, I was merely stating the facts. Just because YOU made the distinction between the 4runners/high mileage and well, the B7. Besides others have ALSO posted a 4runner(1st gen) and the an AE86, Well again because you mentioned the Toyota 4runner. I know this is YOUR thread so carry on.
Besides, I am not here to start E-problems as I enjoy looking at your avatar.

I replaced my cam follower at 100k when my warranty ran out and it was still in perfect shape. I will probably start changing them every 50k. I have had my PCV replaced, my coils, intake flapper, DV and radio and that it all.
