Question Strange issue with 2007 steering....

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I picked up a 2007 S4 (50k miles) about a month ago now and ive noticed that every time I turn the wheel all the way to the left it kinda "jumps" (like something is rubbing or "skipping") and makes a noise (all on the front driver side)…anyone else have an issue like this?

it usually happens when i am in reverse...

Try not turning the wheel all the way to either side, at least don't do it unless necessary. Sounds stupid, but the power steering on these cars is not super robust. Also, do NOT leave the wheel turned to the lock for long. Unwind it half a turn or a turn if you're going to sit in one spot for more than a few seconds. It even says in the owner's manual not to leave the steering wheel at full lock for longer than 15 seconds, as the power steering system creates very high pressures that strain the system at full lock.

The clicking that happens at a lower speed turns is I believe the differential, so it's the quattro system and is normal, I it bothers u a lot there are options such as replacing with a different fluid that will reduce the noise
