Just got car back, happy but still concerned...Noises...

the audi tech just dropped my car off for me, he had it for a couple weeks to take care of tensioner, belt, pulley, snub mount, diff fluids, aux radiator, and valve cover gaskets (275 for all labor :)).

But i'm still having a noise at around 2000 RPM, which I had originally ruled out as the tensioner (he told me my original was complete f'd), so it's driving me nuts. what else could it be? The noise starts at about 1700ish RPM, loudest at 2K, and goes back down and is going around 22, 2300. I don't have the slightest clue anymore. Help??

EDIT: I forgot to add, Does it in every gear and also when not under a load, basically anytime it hits those RPMS

Lubro Moly, and I've done an oil change since this problem started.

What kind of a noise is it? Maybe grab a video if you can. Have you check to ensure everything in the serp belt assembly is all snug and not wobbling. I don't know if the fan/fan shroud could be causing the problem but it is worth a look.

I have also read that the snub mount can rattle if installed wrong.

umm ill have to take another vid tomorrow. my guy did say that it may be my throwout bearing (i know mine is going bad just waiting to do some serious work next year) so im going to try tomorrow and see how it sounds with the clutch pedal in. im also gonna try and get a new video but here is one that i took when the problem started to occur, i know its hard but try to pay attention to the sound changing into a low vibration like tone in the 2K range, ill add one tomorrow.

ok here is a new VID. i tried it with the clutch in and out, same thing. after careful listening it "sounds" like it's coming from the rear of the passenger side bank area.

cuz he knows it was, and he's a friend not a shop so im not trying to screw him. just wanna get to the bottom of it.

btw where in chicagoland are you? my girlfriend lives on the southside so im there every month or so.

well i've been driviing the car around, and now the sound is a little quieter but over the last few days it has moved into to 2500RPM range, anyone have any ideas??
