So whatever this issue is, I've been having it for a while.
Symptoms: Idles like crap, meaning it doesn't idle consistently, but RPMs fluctuate up and down like it's misfiring, Vac gauge also fluctuates from 480-520 when it used to be real consistent at 510-530. Also surges or shutters/hesitates under load sometimes...not all the time though, but more often lately.
It's been a while since I've checked, but last time I did, if you unplug the MAF, everything runs COMPLETELY normal, idles perfectly...though I have not driven it with it unplugged.
What I've changed. Any "bad" coil packs, MAF, ICM, checked for boost/vacuum leaks, Diverter Valve, and any possible issues with grounding. I figure if you unplug the MAF then anything to do with spark would still be going bad, so would that leave it to the sensor's (O2 are the only ones I haven't changed yet). I tinkered with adjusting the fuel pressure a little bit lower, in case it was running rich, but before this issue, it had been running fine at 2.7-2.8bar for about 5-6months.
I'm working on trying to find someone with a VAGCOM, also might see about taking it to the Audi dealer, though I'm skeptical with all the mods that I have on. I'm pretty sure my car needs to be smogged again with this upcoming registration renewal so I want try and get this issue resolved somewhat soon.
