Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi Guys,

I am going to buy some parts for the timing belt and water pump replacement on my B6 1.8t and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on the brands I should go with? I'm looking for German made parts, no cheap china, mexico, kragen crap
Let me know if you've had any experience with these brands and if you know where it's made.

Water pump options: Which one of the brands should I go with?
OEM (this one still has a plastic impeller so I want to upgrade while I'm at it)
    GEBA
    GMB
    BOSCH
    GRAF

I got my it from ecs tuning. it has all the parts you listed (same brand and model) plus it has the updated metal impeller water pump. i think it cost me around 250. install went smoothly. parts fit very well.

I like contitech for the belt.

For the water pump, I've had a GRAF pump leak before. My favorite is HEPU, but GMB is good too.

Thanks for the input guys, my mechanic usually gives me the best prices, the purpose of this thread was to see which brands I should have him order. sorry for any confusion I may have caused.

The BMW forums has a really good thread on water pumps, with pictures, reviews etc so I was looking for something like that here but I couldn't find any. Maybe I can put a poll and ask the forum members etc.

Again, sorry for the confusion, I wanted to open the thread to have people put their input and review brands
