    Downpipe Question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Before I start I want to say that I did search, and I couldn’t find definite answer for my question.

    So here we go:
Will 2,5 or 3 inch downpipe make any performance difference in my current setup?

    K04, Revo Stage 2, 710N DV, TT225 injectors, Magnaflow 16601, 034 HFC, Boostbrothers FMIC

mayb its just me, but seems like with the mods you have listed you should look into going stage 3- and pick up a few more hp's? as far as i know since you have ko4, all you need is a fpr.. or spend a little bit more since you have injectors aswell and go full stage 3.

    id do that b4 downpipes.

I have a similar set up to you except stage 2 Revo with the KO3, and the down pipe was a noticeable improvement. Tectonics Tuning said their downpipe added about 10 wheel HP

lol, what are you talking about? that FMIC is prob maxed out with the K04, the EFI's would need to be upgraded, the software would need to be upgraded, the exhaust is the only thing that he would be able to use but he would still need to get a downpipe. it's not just slapping a bigger turbo on it.

To the OP, Yes a larger downpipe will net you a bit more power and a faster spool not to mention a different exhaust tone.

What downpipe would you recommend, 2.5 or 3 inch and what company? I have 5 speed manual

Techtronics Tuning (TT) has a good DP that comes with options to fit it onto whatever size DP-back exhaust you have. Should be good for 7-9 hp.

I cant see a 1/4" or 3/4" difference in downpipe size making THAT much of a different on a smaller turbo like the k03/k04. IMO, a waste.

Nah, HFC and DP are where the gains in our exhaust comes from. About 20-25hp between the two, from the dynos people have posted. Now, swapping out the last part of the exhaust ** after the DP ** THAT'S a waste.

Which one would be better, is it worth paying extra $50 for TT downpipe?

he already has ko4, injectors. and purchased software.. so why not spend a little bit more money and go stage 3- or full stage 3.. yes the software would have to b changed.. but normally most company's offer a upgrade for a discount if you purchase their software.. if you buy the stg2. and then go stg3.. its not like paying full price. he has alot of the stg3 parts already.. so why not just do the full stg3. thats all im saying.
