[Huh]

Hey guys. My name's Joon. I've been around AudiWorld since 2004, but finally decided to register here.

I drive a 2010 A5 2.0T, which I got in November 2009. Got around 16K miles on it now and man I love this car! My old car was a 2001 A6 2.7T and I miss the V6 sometimes, but the 2.0T's peppy enough for my laid-back driving. Yup, I admit it - I'm the slow driver on the highway, but I stay on the right lane except to pass! Not to say that I don't enjoy some speed from time to time, but my friends generally find me a pretty quiet driver.

Anyway, this is pretty much a perfect car in my book. If I had to make a complaint, I really miss being able to open the sunroof. But the B&O system is awesome, 3G MMI is beautiful just like the car, the interior design is well put together, the exterior design is just epic, and other factors more than make up for that. I also love the fact that it's so rare. I live in Upstate New York near Binghamton, and there are very few A5s / S5s in the area. Of course, when I make my routine trip down to the tri-state area to see my folks, I see plenty of A5s / S5s in Bergen County, White Plains, NYC, etc.

I agree with all of your sentiments about the car as well as the sunroof.

Hey Joon, welcome! Nice picts, especially the last one with the other Coupe. The sunroof does not bother me, it's a love it or hate it thing with these cars.

Welcome to the forum Joon! Nice looking A5! The sunroof does not bother me either but im sure it would bother those who are accustomed to using them. I just have rarely ever used them in other cars with the exception a summer night here and there. Like to keep it nice and dark inside the car. Would love to have that old coupe to get around this winter...nice looking older car. Can anyone recommend reliable winter transportation for a few thousand or less? Thinking outback wagon or old school cherokee square body...

Agreed, the euro plates really make for a distinctive look but I'd be pulled over in minutes if i drove around with those here. On a different note, love the roads upstate, really great to drive through in the fall.

Hah! We'll see about that. I don't enjoy modding my car too much, but I do enjoy reading about other cars. Some people here have some really sweet setup (like you, bader.abbas, teky929rr, etc)!

As badass abbas mentioned, I appreciate it too! Ditto on the winter wheels, good choice. I have my stock 19's on them now and this past weekend I had the chance to really clean the 20's. Counting down the days when it gets warmer again.

I never thought I'd say that 17s are small! My old A6 had 17s and they looked fine on that car, but 17s look so tiny on this car.

You definitely should go up a size to at least 18s!
IMO, 19's fit the A5/S5 perfectly; you could always go higher with 20s which would look better but then you risk destroying your wheels/tires.

Yeah 17s are pretty small in this car. I also read somewhere that darker wheels also make them look smaller. Don't know if getting a brighter silver wheels would have helped with the image or not, but I'll be running these for this winter at least. I always felt that the 19" five Y-spoke wheels are just the perfect match for this car, but I didn't want to go bigger than 18s when I got this car. I'm pretty happy with the simple design of my 18s.

Good Korean food sounds EXCELLENT! There really aren't any good Korean food restaurants in Binghamton area, although Ithaca has some decent places. I've got a VAG that I carry with me where ever I go; you never know when you need a quick scan! Anyway, if you don't find anybody local, I'll help you out next time I'm in the area. I have good friends in Columbia near the Safeway on Harpers Farm Road, so I go down pretty often!

There are many places to get European plates, but the most popular one that people recommended to me is this website. However, I didn't like their prices and I didn't like the NY European Plate style they offered (NY European Style). This is another popular site, but I also didn't like their prices.

I eventually got my plate from here. Their prices were the best, and I liked their NY European Plate style the most. Be warned, though, that it took me forever to get my plate. The site warns you that they're always in high-demand and that it'll take 2 to 4 weeks, and mine took about 4 weeks from the date I ordered to the date I received the plate.

Here is a close-up of the plate. You can see that I decided to drill instead of the popular choice of double-sided tape. I didn't like how the plate looked on the car without any mounting screws, so went with drilling two small holes. I am pretty happy with the result.

Huh, I know exactly which Safeway your talking about. I live couple minutes from there. Hit me with that VAG and the korean food is my treat :)

Definitely sounds good. Where in EC are you. I'm off 103 by Long Gate shopping center. My car is stock at the moment. Will be getting APR stage 2 done with an Eurocode HFC in the upcoming month. Was thinking about wheels and springs but since winter is here, I will wait til its warmer.

I'm right off of Snowden and Waterloo. Right by the Shell gas station and a minute away from Howard High School. Str8 stock right now. Mods will come slowly as I really want to upgrade to a 2010 or 2011. So, I may just keep it stock. You from PG by any chance?

I know exactly where that is. I do some bicycling and my route is through there. I also go to that Shell alot. What's the big diff. between your 2009 model and the 2010 or 2011?
