    H&R Street Performance Coilovers - adjustment and alignment?

    I have just had these installed on my car and like the drop. Right now the fender to ground measurements are:

    Rear - 25"
    Front 25.75"

    I want to go lower on the front to make it 25 all round, but don't understand my dealer when he says:

    "The height was set per the bottom of the rocker panel at one inch down. If you want it adjusted down in the front it will be effectively lower than the rear by 3/4 of an inch. We will have to lower it and readjust the alignment."

    Can't I just adjust the front down 3/4 inch myself or would the alignment be totally out of whack?

    what part of the alignment are you talking about...caster, camber, toe?

    That is a very good question, I don't know. If I simply adjusted the ride height on the front to make it 25" what would be affected?

    Out of curiosity how much thread is left in the rear, could you raise it up? (personal question, used to have H&R coilovers on my B6 3.0 but can't remember fender heights ... don't want to take the new car very low and 25-1/4, 25-1/2 would be about perfect for my tastes).

    As for the alignment, yes, technically you should get an alignment and/or corner balance each time you adjust ride height. Operationally, no, you can lower it yourself just know that you're putting more wear on the insides of the tire because you've changed the camber.

    I am not sure how much thread is left to potential raise it up, i will check. I was running Audi Sport Suspension before and probably had the ability to go 1-1.75 inch lower

    Sure you can adjust the ride height.. Just change it. It will cause the alignment to change, but that little of a height change won't cause too much change to the alignment. If you're worried or concerned, take it in for an alignment again after adjusting the ride height.

    The only thing they can adjust is the toe. Camber and caster aren't adjustable without some adjustable control arms.

    camber is going to be your issue when the b7 a4s are lowered a considerable amount the rears especialy will begin to camber in the lower you go you will need adj control arms to then straighten the camber out as the person above has mentioned
