We will be verifying fitment on many 3.0T equipped vehicles, A6 included.

We do not plan on producing a A6 3.0T Exhaust at this time.

So stock airbox is used, with new filter element and tubing then? Or is the airbox new as well?

I would assume it replaces the air box like all the other CAI's. I could be wrong.

With the screw holes where they are, to me it looks like it'll replace the top of the stock airbox. But i could be completely wrong.

I think that it is good design for the best of both worlds. There was a pic floating around of an intake for the A4 in the B8 A4 thread from a certain company that also has a three letter name. It looked great and was hoping to see something like it for the 3.0T Wonder what the intake tube if it's larger will offer in terms of performance.

  14. #14
Im assuming this is going to be highly over priced as everything else has been already. My guess, closer to 600$ than anything.

Nothing against A.W.E. but it seems as if everything that comes out is priced ridiculously high. Im sure they are quality products, but I still think the pricing is too high. IF pricing on everything that has come out already were to be reasonable, Im sure tuning companies would see a large increase in their sales and capital.

The AWE S-FLO on the B5 goes inside the stock airbox. I would assume it be the same here based on the picture.

I'd be concerned if they used the stock airbox that we wouldn't be able to hear the sc.

idont think it'll b as loud as the strat intake but there are a lot of things just on the intake elbow alone that reduce noise like that turd shaped box and the reduction in size of the intake hose. I def think this will sound great

I've been holding off on an intake because I've been waiting for something like this. Not too flashy when you pop the hood, hopefully not as loud as the Strat intake, but helps the car breath better.

    Put me on the list!

That be cool if it uses the stock or a modified airbox and gives it more power without the whine of the Strat intake.Pricing will be ridiculous just like the Strat intake, guessing $350-500 easy.

Agreed. And if it is that expensive it better show serious gains otherwise I'm out. Intakes are typically a waste of money and only for those that like the sound..... kind of like the exhausts for the S4! ;)

By the look of the CAD file, looks like they are proposing just the intake tube and proprietary filter. Maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised and it will fall in the $2-300 range.

We will be reusing the factory airbox and providing a upgraded filter element and tubing. The factory airbox does a good job of isolating the filter from hot air within the engine bay, so utilizing this allows us to keep a cooler intake charge and keep costs of raw materials down.

The comment I made about it being priced between $0.99 to $600 was intended as pure sarcasm and has no reflection on the price of the product.

The final price hasn't been released to me yet, but I'm sure it will be a fair price for a thoroughly developed and tested performance product.

It's not as loud as an open element filter based intake would be. Think of it as a stealth intake upgrade, you get the additional power that a higher flowing filter and upgraded tubing provide without some of the unwanted sounds.
