    Help me understand what I need to run DS1. Bulbs & Ballast? I'm currently on an H7 kit but got a new set of housings that run DS1. Can I use my current ballast on DS1 bulbs

    Since your original headlights are H7 halogen type lamps, there is no ballasts with those. To use your new D1S xenon headlights, you need the following parts to install in you new headlights, assuming the new housings don't have any of the listed parts.

    2ea D1S HID lamps. Buy only Genuine Philps or Osram HID lamps.

    2ea OEM Valeo HID ballasts

    2ea cables, ballast<-> D1S.

    There are eBay sellers that sell the above parts as a kit. One seller is "lowestA4" here on AZ, another is "Akinaboy" also here on AZ.
