    Oil change thoughts

Changed the oil last night.... Does everybody's oil filter take large 2 men and a boy to torque off? Mine took about 35 ftlbs torque to remove (yes I used a torquer wrench when I couldn't get it to budge with a crescent wrench). actually kinda glad to be done with my Audi service contract...

I was thinking, mant diesel guys (truckers) are running bypass filters/relocation setups. Anybody know of anykits or has anybody made a custom setup? would like the bypass filter for both better filtering and a little cooling(if the lines are run correctly)..

    TIA

for you oil consumption wonderers, I got about 4.5 qts out and put back in

I have a high dollar impact socket from my street bike racing days that was used to pull the output shaft nut that works flawlessly for the oil filter cap on the 2.0T. It's either a 34mm or 36mm, can't remember off the top of my head. If you plan to do your own oil changes I would source an inexpensive (read: not impact) socket for this purpose as well as the oil drain tool as these both make a long messy job a quick clean one. You'll pay for these two items with the money you save from a few oil changes done yourself. Worth every penny IMO.

thanks, 34 mm is what I used with my torque wrench, not too interested in the drain tool, but since I have an A3 also may not be a bad investment....
