    Brake Pads at 48000KMS?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Well the light for changing the Brake Pads has come on I have taken a look I probably have about 20% of pads left. how long do you think I should run them or should I change them asap as the indicator has come on?

Also what kinds of pads? OEM? Anyone suggest a better pad with less brake dust?

Also any suggestions on how to make this a cost effective project and not pay the stealership about 600 bucks?

Can we post some links to some products and is 48K too early of pad wear? did I really drive the hell outa of it?

Stoptech Posiquiet Pads only $65.00 for the fronts.
    About $20.00 for the sensors.

Seem to have pretty good reviews.
Low dust and OEM or better performance.
    Semi-metallic though.

Also when changing them the dealership told me the rear wears less then the front (as you can see by the brake dust) does that hold true?

Yes, the front does most of the grabbing.

So does that mean, I should wait? What is the wear ratio? I checked the front they have about 20% pad left. The back looks to be as good as about 40% ...any feedback guys?

http://shop.achtuning.com/StopTech-3...-S4-A5-S5.aspx (why are these more expensive?) They come in pairs/axle sets for the front 2 sets of pads?

Need to know also what about Rotor wear? I got 2 new ones put on about 20 000KM ago because they were warped. Should be okay with those.

Those are just for the fronts right? They sell them in an axle set, also the sensor has to be changed, thats a plug and play type fix?

Should be. Stoptech makes a replacement sensor for the front pads.
I will know when I get my pads replaced.
