Oil on Valve Seals?

Hey everyone! Long time no talk! I've been busy with work and haven't really done anything new with the car, and I don't really plan to. However, I am having an issue. I've noticed some oil on the valve seals in my engine bay recently. I haven't gotten a CEL and haven't noticed any performance issues. I took the car to my local SUBARU, which claims to have certified Audi techs. In case you're wondering, I took it to Subi b/c the Audi dealership is 100 miles away and the car isn't under warranty any longer. I just got a phone call from Subi saying the valve seals are faulty and they need to be replaced. I assumed the oil was from a busted PCV (which I had replaced maybe 20k miles ago). Could they be right? Or does that not make sense?

Are you referring to the valve stem seals, or maybe the valve cover gasket?
You can't SEE the valve stem seals without disassembling the head.

If it's the valve cover gasket, then that could be leaking due to a faulty PCV.
You'll probably want to change both out.

Thanks! I guess I'll have them change out one, and if the oil shows up again, I'll take it back to the dealership. The tech was fairly certain it wasn't the PCV though. I hope he's right.

FYI i have the same issue. Went to dealership twice already for that same issue. Very annoying but good thing my car is still under warranty, otherwise it will cost $200 at least. They told me it was a "defective" valve.

I've been told it's the gasket and not the PCV. Hopefully that's the case! I guess i'll find out next week when the parts come in. I'm also having my suspension raised up as high as it can go for Winter Mode. New tires are also on the way as well. Looking forward to it. Anyone interested in my wheels? Basically looking to get rid of them for a VERY reasonable price + shipping.

Purge Valve? AKA N75 Valve I think.
