    1996 A4 2.8 auto: transmission write up

    The car goes on the hoist today to take the (bad) transmission out.
    Can someone direct me to a good write up for the procedure?
    I did take a manual trans out of our 98 A4 and had a good write up that helped.

    01 Allroad Tiptronic, TCU tune, mild stg 3 (350 HP) tune (stock injectors) KraftwerkTurbo TM1. Lower, Wider. Custom tip vent pod with Podi
    02 Allroad 6 spd, Kraftwerk Turbo TM6, 750cc, 3" MAF, piggy, FMIC, CM stg 5 (hate). 30 psi at 3600 rpm. Needs stronger rods (coming).

    If it is similar to the S4, you will have to pull the motor and trans to get to the bolts at the top of the bellhousing. Good luck!

    Nah, the 2.7TT is a bitch! There is nothing worse out there from what I have heard. The A4 (manual) wasn't that bad. Can't believe the 2.8 (even so it is a V6) is even close to the 2.7TT (which I assume is in your S4, unless you have the 4.2 V8; but even that is said to be easier than the 2.7TT).

    Yeah, my S4 is a 2.7T. There will be more space due to not having turbos hidden in the engine bay. It still won't be easy, I can guarantee you that.
