    Change tail light bulb

This is probably a dumb question, but how do you change the tail light bulb? I'm on my phone so I can't really do a search throughout the threads. Thanks for the help in advance.

    1. Pop cover in trunk
    2. Remove screw
    3. Tail lamp will hinge out and away from the body (toward wheel)
    4. Pop large flat black plastic piece off (clipped in)
    5. Replace bulb & reverse

if you open your trunk, look to the side of your truck pertaining to the side of the faulty light. you'll see a circular cutout in the trunk lining. open it up (just pops open) and unscrew the screw you'll find. if i can remember its pretty long. then the intire light itself pretty much pops out. self explanatory from there.

    it looks like this

If the sedan is anything like an avant (which I think it is) you need to find the long screw located in the trunk. There's a circular cover just inside the trunk and if you move that there should be a screw located behind it. You'll probably need to pull on the light as you unscrew it to get some tension to get the screw out of the housing. It will feel like it's taking forever, but eventually it should pop out.

Those screws are easy to strip, the heads are very very soft.

while you're going in there, you might as well do the "stealth" bulb mod. makes a nice, subtle difference. did mine few days ago.

I would go with some LED bulbs instead of painting the stockers...

Stealth bulbs are way too dim. I had a set and removed them after a day.

Don't the LEDs cause error codes?

    1156 rear, 3157/3457 front.

They will cause sporadic "bulb out" codes unless you add a resistor.

That should be no problem if you have any mods done or file written, you'll already be used to the "check engine"

I use a 8mm socket but if that is rounded off you can always take out the 17mm Allen (kind of sure it is a 17mm allen but it maybe a 14mm allen) housing around the screw.
