On the way to work today the cruise control stopped working. It was on and I went to increase the speed slightly then "blink" the light went out and I couldn't get it to go again....

I use it quite often. I'm wondering what the issue is now.

That VW Sportwagen TDI is looking better and better everytime something goes on this pig.

dumb question, but you sure you didn't just push the cruise control stalk downward? this turns it off, until you replace the position and hit 'set' again

I thought if you push the stalk toward the dash it disables cruise control until you pull it back toward you until it clicks? Maybe that's what you're saying and I just misunderstood...

Intake Manifold, gas guage, brakes (pads and rotors going at the same time and relatively quickly), I'm going to buy some new plugs since the car seems to run a little rough after the intake issue. It might have fouled a plug.

No It's not that. I use the cruise everyday pretty much and it's not because I pushed it towards the dash. Push/Pull press the button, up/down nothing works. From other models the brake sensor might have took a dump. I just don't like having to bring the damn thing in again and find another $500-$1000 bill. I'm just venting since I seemed to be attracting unplanned bills every fricken month. And add the fact that I'm traveling to AZ soon and would hate to have to pay attention to the speedometer when I'm going.

Do you have a manual or an automatic?
I have a 2006 A4 6speed manual and my cruise control went out over the weekend. I searched and found some suggesting to replace the clutch switch which is a $20 part located above the clutch pedal. I am also have been experiencing loss of revs between gear changes so hopefully this is the fix.

Well who has two thumbs and a working cruise control? THIS GUY. I pumped the brake a couple times when I got in the car after work and drove down the highway..... Works again. These gremlins are a PITA. I'm guessing the brake sensor is going bad.....

On my last B6, same thing happened. Lost cruise control. Turns out it was a wheel sensor in the back. The computer wouldnt hold it i guess if it couldnt sense the tire speed. idk.

What was weird at the time was that I noticed the cruise being out first. Then the next day I got an ESP warning. Then went to dealer and once they fixed wheel sensor, I was back cruising, heh literally & figuratively.
