    B6 Sline Mods?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So guys the car has been decided on its going to be a 2005 Quattro Sline 1.8 T (with the red T).

Now we need to start thinking about mods, my ideas so far are:

    - APR Sline Stage 1 ECU
    - APR Exhaust (2 big RS4 Styled Tips)
    - Either a B6 S4 or B7 RS4 body kit??? (ideas of which one is the better option not just opinion thanks)
    - Either Black or Onyx black 19" RS4 Rims (anywhere thats good to get a set?)

    Any thoughts and further ideas?

I'm pretty sure you would have a red T on both an sline and non sline as long as its the 1.8T 190hp from the factory with the BEX engine code and dual smic

must be diff from the uk
the b6 was always and only a sport
then the s-line b7 took over from that
the b6 had the special edition that gave it the 190

The RS4 style exhaust will only look good if your rear valance works with it. The standard openings are too round to accommodate the oval tips without it looking weird.

Don't do the RS4 body kit for two reasons. 1) it just doesn't look right on the B6 unless you avoid number 2) the conversion kits are made of cheap material. If you really wanted to do it you should buy the real RS4 parts (but those will be very expensive). Someone did convert their B6 to a B7 RS4 body and used all of the RS4 parts. I doubt that will be cheap. My take, even if you do this the proper way, you still have a 1.8 under the hood and not a 4.2 so why look like something that's not even near the same under the hood?

i know people are going to say that its your car do what you want, blah blah blah, but if you want a car that looks like an rs4, buy an rs4. I think the b6 a4 has great lines and can look teriffic without a body kit. I do think the s4 front end looks nice, maybe an s4 front bumper?

those rims will look good, no question. I would say that it is an over played look, but in Australia i understand that audis in general are pretty rare, so it doesn't matter. Get real audi rims, not reps. there is a good amount of difference.

as far as further ideas- a little black spray paint goes a long way if you decide you want less chrome on the front end.

    USP!
imo the usp front end looks better than the S4's..
Since it's not correlated to there being 4.2 litres under the hood you wont get 'poser" comments from audi enthusiasts. Maybe use a different rear to accomidate your desired tips.

I whole heartedly agree with everything you said. The RS4 conversion will be pricey, not guaranteed to look good, and will be tough. I'd take all that RS4 conversion money and put some nice parts to put under the hood.

What exactly does an Aussie B6 S-Line look like?

I have to disagree. The S4 bumper looks a million times better than the USP because of two, very simple, things. 1) it's a molded one-piece bumper. 2) it's a flush design as opposed to swooping in like the USP.

Of course it's all about preference, but for me the S4 is a much better bumper than the USP just because of how well it's designed (not to mention how much more aggressive the fog grilles are).

Not true. The birth of the S-Line was in 2004- they ran for 1 year a bit like a run out model just before the B7. The S-Line B6 does have 190bhp (Red T) Petrol only (BEX). 6 speed box S-Line bumper's , side moulding's , S-Line badged & perforated steering wheel and gear knob, S-Line kick plate's and Alloy trim inlay's and 18" x 8" Alloy wheel's with a 235 tyre all as standard. I own this model and chime in every time this type of topic pop's up as many claim they own a B6 S-Line. Since 2005 Audi have stuck a S-Line badge on most of there car range (in the UK) even there Diesel car's. @ OZ-Audi tune your car as you see fit but don't change the classic shape by adding bit's of tat to it.

I know what youre saying, but youre just being picky lol.. jk
USP has a bit of a lip to the lowest part of the bumper cover, making it look more aggresive than the S4 IMO[!!], is where I'm coming from. And I dont think anyone less than 8 cylinders should rock S4 bodyness

Audis definately aren't rare over here and yes the RS4 reps are just as overplayed here as they are there. Real RS4 rims here would be around 3-4k bit too pricey. VMR 708's would be a far better alternative.

Your post is also not entirely accurate, either. It's different for every country because "S-line" are just optional bits to add on to the base car. S-line was not just for cars that had the BEX motor. In Europe, for example, you could order S-line interior or exterior bits or go for the full package. The US also had the S-line exterior mixed with some interior bits (S-line steering wheel) and was called Ultrasport.

YES .... the S-Line bit's and bob's could be bought as an option from the part's list when ordering the car. But in 2004-2005. They made a run of B6's with every S-line option as standard including the extra 190 bhp, as standard, so there was no need to have a S-Line option list as the car came from the factory already to go. The Birth of the S-lIne. Folk will stick these part's on there B6's to make it look like a S-Line and say they have a s-line and some crazy people even try to sell them as an s-line. F**k it i'm going to stick a RS4 badge on mine and call it and sell it as an RS4. Keep it real that's all i'm trying to put across, if people want to add bit's to there car's to make it look like another car that's just plain crazy as why not just buy the real thing at the start.

I'm with you on the notion, but not everyone has a spare 100k for an RS4...
