    Became a Audi owner today

    whats up to all of you here...I just got a 99 A4 1.8 5 speed it got a hks blow off valve(which I want to take off its too annoying) a boost control...some hids and yellow foglights...stage 4 clutch


    I like the way it drives...so far only problem i got is when i hit a bump i hear a rattle on the driver side i have no clue what it might be and when i step on the break i hear a click....if you guys can help out that'll be great

    Welcome to a love/hate relationship! They are fun cars to own but also a pain in the a$$ when something breaks.

    The rattle might be something as simple as a exhaust hanger. The click I'm not to sure about, mine click but i know thats due to drilled/slotted rotors i have on.

    The clunk.. Id say Control arms they are a well known "fail" of our cars.

    the click noise when you hit the brakes is usually pad shift, pretty normal but i would check the pad life and see what kind of ridge is on the rotor, re greasing the pads and slide pins usually will quiet is down for a while

    before you bring it to a shop, take a second and jack up the front of the car and grab each rim and try to twist it both left/right, and up/down... this alone will save you some money when you bring it to the shop...

    Nice. The 99.5 is one of the desirable years.

    Rattle is most likely the one of the lower "straight" control arms in the front. Make sure you know exactly when the t-belt was last done (mileage), and it would be wise to inspect it anyway.

    I cannot for the life of me figure out what the silver thing is doing at the back of the valve cover. Care to share?
