    Ignition problems?!

I bought the car a couple weeks ago and since I've noticed it takes a little when turning it on, cold start and sometimes even after it's been warmed up. I've been reading but not sure if the coil pack could be bad, fuel pump, etc suggestions would help a lot

Is it cranking when you turn the key or just doing nothing?

call the dealer and see if the coil pack recall has been done. Otherwise, change ur plugs or see how long its been since thats been done when u ask about the packs.

even if the warranty is out, they will still change the packs, it is a recall so it has to be done free of charge. No harm in calling them and giving them ur vin number to see if theyve been done.

I still have the same problem after they've changed the coil pack. I'll be happy to find the problem. I was never to worried about this. But I'll try changing the plugs. Any other things could be bad except the coil pack and plugs?

I called Audi and they said my pack was changed in Jan of 09 so the next step is to bring it in and let them diagnose the prob. At this point i don't know what else it could be

Do a search for cold start problems. This is a known issue with B7s...seems to be mainly 06's although other have had issues. Myself and others have had the dealership try and fix the problem with no luck. The only thing that seems to help is to put the key in the on position for a second or two before cranking. You will hear the fuel pump prime when you do this (although it starts when you open the door, must not be long enough). I have never had the car fail to start, just an extended crank so it's more of an annoyance than a problem for me.

I've had the car in at Audi dealer at least 5 times for this problem, never got to the bottom of it. They said it was nothing wrong and they could not duplicate the problem while the car was there. I also left car at the dealer 3 times over night just to make sure they get it in the morning(that was in the winter). I always got the same useless answer: "nothing wrong with the car". So I kind of stoped thinking about it. I would like to get it fixed though. I'll try to spend some time reading the "Cold start problem" thread, maybe there's some useful information there
