    Pinch bolt solution

so im getting tired of people asking this same question over and over again. in order to remove the pinch bolt, just get a ball joint press (the big c clamp type) from autozone, oreillys, or whatever. hook it over the hex end of the bolt and turn the shaft to push the bolt out. doesnt matter how bad the pinch bolt is rusted, using this ball joint press you will remove it with a breeze. here is a picture so you get an idea. don't thank me, thank whoever invented this tool.

I did it with an assortment of tie rod end tools before I got the ball joint press. It's pretty stubborn, it needs oil, a hammer and a press tool, working it back and forth in the bore, after getting it to partially rotate. There's worse fasteners on the front end like the rusted out axle spindle bolt that you have to weld sacrificial nuts to. The next time I anti seized the pinch bolt to avoid that game the next time around.

Never knew that tool existed. That would have made that job a lot easier.

I don't even know why people mess with the pinchbolt when swapping the suspension. I didn't touch mine.

Upper control arms don't last forever.

There are def some bad enough that this will not work though.

I agree with OP. Mine were so bad in the end I had to hammer a screwdriver through the hole to push it out. Same principle basically.

Wish I knew of this as well. It took me an oxyacetylene torch to get it off.

The best solution is probably to mess with it as early as possible. Clean out the hole and anti-seize it. If you wait around a couple years until your CA's are bad, that's more time it has to seize up on you.
