Pulling trigger on 07 B7 S4. Maintenance Questions.

Driving 500 miles to trade in my R32 for an 07 S4 with 50k on the odometer. It's a CPO vehicle and the dealership put 4 brand new tires on it. Anything else I should ask them or what am I looking at as far as maintenance for the first 10k miles I have the car? I'm 'assuming' I can just drive it off the lot and not have to worry about anything for a while.

buy an extended warranty! its just good to get on in case you have any problems down the road. I just bought an 2005.5 S4 with 48,000 miles and did the warranty. It is def in my top 5 for favorite vehicle and from a performance stand point it has been amazing.

I'll look into the extended warranty thanks, but I just wanted to know if there will be any immediate things I'll need to take care of that the dealership has not done? Also, I got the NAV with Bose system, is there an iPod adapter in this thing and/or Aux?

I would change the oil as soon as you get back with the car. I used to be a sales manager at a few dealerships and if the oil was acceptable we would never change it and waste money. I got my 07 S4 a little less than a week ago and the first thing I did was to change the oil. The oil from what I seen looked like it had a few thousand miles on it already. Also look at the brakes and rotors. Other than that try to get the service history on the car.

Thanks, it was a 1 owner car purchased and serviced at the same dealer where I'm buying it. The sales person I'm dealing with actually sold the guy the car, who just traded it in foran RS4. Said he was an older fella. Gonna try to have them hook me up with a free oil change.

If it's an 07 with nav it will not have an ipod or Aux jack in it.

What dealer are you getting it from? I drove from Mentor (almost in PA) to Philly to pick up my 07 in January. Car's been great, and still a service left on Audi care!

If you don't wanna worry about doing anything for awhile, do it now. This is what I did (in exact order) when I bought my S4 a few months ago...

Fuel Filter (did before Seafoam treatment through fuel
Full Seafoam (1.5 cans through intake over 3 hot sessions, 4 cans in fuel at 2 per fill up, 1 can in oil for 100mi prior to change)
Oil change Motul 8100 Xcess 5w40/ OEM filter
    Transmission/Diff Fluid (5qts Motul Gear300 - 3 in trans [MT only]/about 2 in diff)
    Coolant Flush (Pentofrost G12++/Water Wetter)
Power Steering Fluid Flush (3qts Mobil1 Synthetic ATF - flush 2qts through/fill with last quart)
Brake Fluid Flush (1L Super Blue - flush until you only have enough to top off the res....flush order: R-L rear~R-L front caliper)
    Spark Plugs (OEM Bosch/NGK/Denso Iridium - I can't see/feel a difference other than iridium's last loooong time)
Air Filter replace or clean (buy a KN drop in and call it a day)
    Cabin Filter (charcoal type)

I just called the dealer before I actually go pick it up and they said service put 4 new tires on and did the 55k maintenance on it already. Anything else I need to be concerned about? I'm assuming it's Audi service and it's a CPO so if anything is broke on it they'll fix it before selling.

I'd do something like this. Or at least, check which of them look dirty and just do it. This way you're starting with a clean slate and you know everything is good. I wouldn't do the seafoam thing though.

So I need to ask this. I'm in VA, buying CPO in MA. How do they title it back in VA so I can drive it home? Temp tags?

as long as you get it from dealer, they can hold it. I picked my S4 in CT while I was in PA. they gave me a dealer tag and mailed new tag right to me.

Most states have laws stating you can run your old tags temporarily after buying a new car. If a cop pulls you over, just show him the bill of sale.

    just adding, in VA:
your old tags need to still be registered and insured. so take them off your R32 and keep the current registration.
that plus the BOS and/or title and you're good to go for 5 business days. then you need to register it.

temp tags from the dealer are usually good for 30... but is a bigger hassle when buying out of state.

And I think it goes without saying that you should drive cautiously on the way home. Don't give cops a reason to hassle you with temp tags and an out of state license.

I actually was able to get a 3 day temp pass from DMV and to put my current plates on it. Even the DMV though said some states don't allow it and to drive safe. Makes me think driving it illegally is safer being the temp route would be attracting more attention. Whatever. Thanks for the advice nonetheless.
