How much should it cost to transport a car

Across the country? If i want to get a specific model that is in another state? Or should I just insist that its part of the deal.

I was charged $750 to get my car transported from Houston Texas to St. Paul Minnesota. They also charged me $750 to ship their S4 down to the other dealer since everyone only had one S4 at the time. But, dealers always shift costs around to make you think you got a good deal, so if you negotiate this down, watch out for other charges.

Usually it is part of the deal if the dealer is in your town acting as intermediary.

If you do it by yourself, costs around $600 for open (truck) shipment and around $1200 for covered shipment. If you choose open truck, the transport company is not responsible for damages to the car like stone chips, they cover only if the truck has a major accident. I would press the dealer to absorb this cost just to get rid of insurance responsibility hassles in case of mishap.

    Hope this helps

I'd try to negotiate something. Did you put a offer on that S4?

It's $.80 a mile typically. It's not always a take a car and the same truck brings it back either. Hell you can buy a car in another state and arrange your own shipping home.

There are alot of factors if you want a specfic number but for a general range I went coast to coast, Washington To East of NY City and it was $1000. Just did it recently. You can def bargin with the transporter bases on other prices you recieve. I researched it alot so if you want details PM me with questions.

You can get it as part of the deal , you just have to negotiate with them... and dont get ripped off especially paying to send one of their cars back to them...

If you currently have a DD, just place the order. If you do it now, you'll probably get it before the factory closes for their holiday siesta.
